    3. Ralph E. Rafuse 2009 Halifax Chronicle Herald >From the collection of Charlene Veinotte Ralph E. Rafuse, 88, Liverpool, passed away peacefully at home, March 11, 2009. Born in Milton, he was a son of the late Harvey and Edith (MacLeod) Rafuse. Ralph was a veteran of the Second World War serving with the West Nova Scotia Regiment overseas in Sicily and Italy and was wounded twice. Following the war, he worked for Richardson's Lumber Company, Liverpool Lumber Company, and Whynot Woodworkers Limited, retiring in 1980. After retirement Ralph continued his passion for carpentry building toys for children. Ralph was a member of Mersey Branch, No. 38, Royal Canadian Legion, West Nova Scotia Regiment South Shore Memory Club, Queens County Veterans' Club and Trinity Anglican Church. He is survived by his wife, Annabelle (Veinot); sons, Norman, Liverpool and Clarke (Linda), Milton; grandchildren, Evan, Brent, Michael, and Cassandra (Richie) Burgess; and brother, Roger, Milton. He was predeceased by sister, Dorothy Fralic. Visitation will be Friday evening, March 13, from 7-9 p.m. and a Legion memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., both in Chandlers' Funeral Chapel, Liverpool. Funeral service will be held in Trinity Anglican Church, Liverpool on Saturday, March 14, at 11a.m., Chaplain Donald Lawton officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Liverpool. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Trinity Anglican Church or to the West Nova Scotia Regiment South Shore Memory Club.
