H. Wilbert Silver 1956 Bridgewater Bulletin On November 16th., there passed away at his home in Upper Northfield, H. Wilbert Silver, at the age of 75 years and eight months, after an illness of only six days, due to a shock. He was born in Lower Northfield, son of the late David and Margaret Silver and resided on the old homestead until seven years ago when he purchased a home in Upper Northfield and with his wife lived there until his death. He is survived by his sorrowing widow, the former Effie Fancey and one brother, Walter, who in late years has been residing with him in the same home. One daughter, Sarah Margaret, predeceased him in infancy; also one sister, Bessie and two brothers, Lloyd and Angus. The funeral services on November 17th. were held from Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, of which the deceased was a member, Rev. Fischer, of the Northfield Parish, officiating. He spoke comforting words from Romans, 8th. chapter, verse 18. Interment was in the Northfield Cemetery. Hymns sung were "It is Not Death to Die" and "What a Friend we Have in Jesus." The pallbearers were Robert and Ray Fancey, Hubert Oickle, and Tupper MacKay.
