Mrs. W.B. Veinot 1920 Bridgewater Bulletin Upper Northfield- On Thursday afternoon, September 23rd., death visited the home of W.B. Veinot, claiming for its victim, his beloved wife. Mrs. Veinot had been ailing for over a year and yet her death was very sudden. She was a great sufferer but bore her sufferings patiently and passed peacefully away on Thursday. She was a good neighbour,willing to help all in distress and had a large circle of friends. She leaves to mourn their loss four sons, one married, Mr. and Mrs. Horace Veinot, Earl, Foster, and Lossie. She also leaves one grandchild, Dora; one step son, Burton Veinot of Jordan Falls and two step daughters, Carrie (Mrs. Thompson) and Lottie (Mrs. Cummings), of the United States. She was a faithful member of the Star of Promise Lodge, No. 222, I.O.O.F., and while in good health her seat was never vacant. A few weeks ago a large number of brothers and sisters of the lodge made a fraternal visit at her home. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. A.J. Reynolds, New Germany and the Star of Promise Lodge. The pall bearers were Brothers Lemuel Silver, Lemuel Penney, Henry Oickle, and Edmund Whynot. Brother Edwin Fancy had charge of the hearse and brother Hubert the flower wagon.Those who took part in the ceremony were brother George Lohnes, C.T., Brother George Penney, P.C.T., and Sister Mrs. Henry Oickle, Chaplain. The cortege was preceeded by the members of the order who formed a circle of unity around the mourners and grave and as they marched away each member dropped a white flower in the grave saying,"Farewell, Sister."
