Frank Alfred Pierce 2003 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Friday, August 8, 2003. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Frank Alfred Pierce, 90, Port Medway, formerly of Middleboro, Massachusetts, died July 31, 2003, in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool. Born in Harwich, Masssachusetts, he was a son of the late Frank Alfred and Lura Hazel (Hall) Pierce. He has a record of 12 years serving in the Armed Services, including activities with the Navy during the Second World War when he was a Chief Petty Officer, identified as CC STD in the Supply Corps and also receiving his Nicaraguan campaign medals. He was a member of S.L. Nickerson Legion Post and a mason receiving his 50 year jewel. He worked in the police services in Middleboro, retiring as sergeant after 20 years. He and his wife moved to Port Medway in 1972. He is survived by his daughter, Janice (Merrill) Smith, Port Medway; grandchildren, Kimberly Smith-Crouse, Crystal Wentzell, Tammy Whynott; six great-grandchildren; brother, Charles, Taunton, Maassachusetts. He was predeceased by his wife, Verna E. (Howes) Pierce; brothers, Edward and Alfred. Funeral service was held Monday, August 4, in Ashley Funeral Home, Middleboro. Burial followed in Nemasket Hill Cemetery. in lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the Meadow Brook Manor, South Brookfield or Queens General Hospital.
