Lawrence Russell Robar 2001 Halifax Chronicle Herald >From the collection of Charlene Veinotte Lawrence Russell Robar, 77, Nictaux, formerly of Bloomington, died April 10, 2001, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Bloomington, he was a son of the late Stanley and Jessie (Hoffman) Robar. He was a motorcycle messenger before becoming an Army Military Police during the Second World War. He was later employed at Martyn's Mill and A.W. Allen as a truck driver. He was a member of Nictaux Baptist Church and an honourary member of Nictaux Volunteer Fire Department. He was an ATV enthusiast. Surviving are daughters, Brenda (Del) LeBlanc, Ontario; Judy (Lionel) Zwicker, Bloomington; sons, Glendon (Elaine) Crouse, Nictaux; Garnet (Shirley) Keddy, Bloomington; grandchildren, Darlene (Erwin) Banks, Nictaux; Cheryl (Reg) Young, Sackville; Denise (Kevin) Passmore, Lindsay, Ontario; Jeannette (Ian) Montgomery, Vancouver; Tanya (Robert) Edward, Louisville, Kentucky; Dena (Billy) Connell, Bloomington; Jeffrey Keddy, Bloomington; Matthew Keddy, Camp Borden; great-grandchildren, Eric and Tracey Banks, Nictaux; Ashley Young, Sackville. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Tenney Keddy; sons, David and Paul; sister, Florence. Funeral service 3 p.m. today in Nictaux Baptist Church, Rev. Bill McLeod officiating. Burial in Nictaux Cemetery. Donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Nictaux Volunteer Fire Department, First Responders.
