Myrna Viola Mossman 2008 Halifax Chronicle Herald >From the collection of Charlene Veinotte Myrna Viola Mossman, 88, Centre, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2008, in Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Walden, she was a daughter of the late Ozem E. and Ruby Annie (Carver) Carver. Myrna was first employed with her husband as caretakers at the Lunenburg County Jail. At various times she was employed at Glady's Canteen at Hirtle's Beach; Wheel House Motel, Lunenburg; The Ovens National Park in Feltzen South; South Shore Sales; Ritcey and Creaser in Riverport. Sheworked at the Old Dawson Hospital and Fishermen's Memorial Hospital from 1966 until 1980. Myrna was a member of Riverview Rebekah Lodge No. 56, Riverport, where she was in receipt of her 60 year jewel and later the Alexander Rebekah Lodge, No. 22, Lunenburg, and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 23, uxiliary, Lunenburg. She was a member of Trinity United Church, Rose Bay. She is survived by daughter, Marilyn (Ronald) Wentzell, Halifax; sons, Russell (Kathy) Mossman, Lunenburg and Irvin (Judith) Mossman, Bedford; sister, Mabel Sheridan, Bridgetown; brothers, Harry (Lucy), Bridgewater; Russell (May), Fredericton; and Gardiner (Ferne), Bridgewater; grandchildren, Gary Mossman, Lori Eddy, and Matthew Mossman; great-grandchildren, Bradley and Logan Mossman and Ashlyn Eddy; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Wilsom Mossman; sister, Clara Baker; brothers, Kenneth and Maynard. Friends are invited to share their memories of Myrna with her family during visitation in Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. Funeral service to celebrate Myrna's life will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Trinity United Church, Rose Bay, Rev. L. Dale Gray officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Lower Kingsburg. Family flowers only. In lieu, memorial donations may be made to Lakeview Cemetery, Trinity United Church or a charity of your choice.
