Mary Regina Oickle 2001 Halifax Chronicle Herald >From the collection of Charlene Veinotte Mary "Regina" Oickle, 62, Lower Northfield, died December 6, 2001, in South Shore Regional Hospital. Born in Prospect, she was a daughter of the late George Sr. and Margaret Viola (Christian) Coolen. She resided in Prospect until moving to Lower Northfield in 1984. Regina was a former employee of Sears. She was admired for her humour, strength, and positive attitude throughout her three and a half year battle with ALS. She enjoyed her life, her family, and socializing with friends both near and far. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Special thanks to the nursing staff of the 4th. floor at South Shore Regional and also Dr. J. Livingstone. Surviving are her husband, James E., Lower Northfield; daughters, Yvone Kiley (Ryan), Prospect; Melissa Cavicchi (Ryan) and husband Craig, Tantallon; Dennis Ryan, Halifax; Thomas Ryan and wife Amanda, Beijing; brothers, Weldon and wife Kathleen, John B. and wife Joan, all of Prospect; Paul and wife Peggy, Enfield; twin sister, Clarissa LeBlanc, Prospect; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by brother, George; granddaughter, Jessica Kiley. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Atlantic Funeral Home, Bayers Road, Halifax. Funeral mass 10:30 a.m. Monday in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Prospect, Father Leonard Fischer officiating. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to ALS Society of Canada, Regional Office.
