Evvie Lyle Crosby 2004 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Monday, August 9, 2004. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Miss Evvie Lyle Crosby, 93, Hebron, Yarmouth County, passed away August 6, 2004, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Brazil Lake, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Ida (Hamilton) Crosby. She was a member of Hebron United Baptist Church. She cared for many foster children over the course of many years. She was an avid seamstress; she also enjoyed doing craft works. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by daughter, Cindy (Gary) Fells, Yarmouth; cousin, Fred Whitehouse, Yarmouth; cousin, Florence Doucette, Yarmouth; grandchildren, Gary Jr., Vanessa, Melissa, and Tyrone. She was predeceased by brother, Ronald; sister, Dorothy Belle. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today, with funeral service 2 p.m. Tuesday, both in Sweeny's Funeral Home, Yarmouth, Rev. Wayne Johnson officiating. Interment in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations may be made to Hebron United Baptist Church.
