Ruth Evelyn Eveleigh 2003 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Tuesday, July 22, 2003. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Ruth Evelyn "Toots" Eveleigh, 87, Hubbards, formerly of Halifax, passed away quietly in the VG Site, QEII, July 20, 2003. Born in Martin's Point, she was a daughter of the late Warren and Ellen Barkhouse. SEhe and her late husband were devoted members and supporters of Edgewood United Church for 52 years. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Coolen, Hubbards; grandchildren, Kathryn and Matthew; brother, George Barkhouse, Martin's Point; sister, Betty (Leroy) Hiltz, Martin's Point; sister-in-law, Ethel (Ross Barkhouse), Martin's Point; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Cecil; brothers, Frank and Ross; sisters, Dorothy, Winnie, and Grace in infancy. No flowers by request. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lower Sackville, Rev. Sandra Cox officiating. Donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, Halifax.
