    3. Lawson A. Wile 1935 Bridgewater Bulletin The death of Lawson A. Wile, of Hemford, occurred at the Victoria General Hospital, on Monday, June 3rd. Mr. Wile was the son of Mrs. Alice Wile and the late Austin Wile and was born at Hemford forty-four years ago. His entire life was spent at Hemford, where he held the respect of all who knew him. For the past eighteen years, Mr. Wile held the position of postmaster and many were his acts of kindness during that period. He was a valued member of Primrose Lodge, No. 97, and of Willow Rebekah Lodge, No. 117 and took a keen interest in these lodges up until the time of his death. Mr. Wile is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Idella Eisnor of Stanburne; four sons, Claude, Oscar, Ellis, and Roscoe, all at home; and by four daughters, Misses Lillian, Iris, Verna, and Mildred, all at home and by three brothers, Robert of Hemford; Guilford and Leonard of Timmins. The funeral on Wednesday morning was conducted by Rev. Victor Monk who spoke from the text"Watch and Pray." Hymns sung were "My Faith Looks up to Thee," "Rock of Ages," "Jesus, Lover of My Soul," and "Face to Face." The service at the grave was conducted by members of the Oddfellows and Rebekah lodges, both of whom marched in a body. The pall bearers were Brother Oddfellows: Carl Hart, Percy Colp, Howard Silver, and Dennis Silver. The floral offerings were numerous and were carried by Sister Rebekahs, Misses Glenna Veinot, Marguerite Veinot, Jean Silver, and Mrs. Ivan Woodowrh.

    3. Mrs. Delmer E. Conrad 1964 Bridgewater Bulletin Relatives and friends were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Effie Marie, beloved wife of Delmer E. Conrad, on Tuesday afternoon, July 7, 1964, at her home at the early age of 46 years. Due to ill health she was confined to her home for a period of time which she bore with great fortitude, always cheerful and as long as health permitted, willing to help others and to assist in various other activities of church and community in time of need. A faithful wife and mother, she will be greatly missed in her home circle and by a host of relatives and friends elsewhere. A daughter of the late Enos and Flora (Rodenhizer) Bolivar of Branch LaHave, who predeceased her some years previous, her entire life was spent also in Branch LaHave. Surviving to mourn their loss are a sorrowing husband; four daughters, Marilyn (Mrs. William Bell), of Cookville; Kathryn, Vivian, and Sherry, at home; one son, David, predeceased her in infancy; one grandchild; two sisters, Viola (Mrs. Mark Simmons), Leister, Massachusetts; Florence (Mrs. Foster Lohnes), of Upper Northfield; and two brothers, Edgar and Elvard, of Branch LaHave. Funeral services were conducted by her pastor, the Rev. Donald Himmelman, on Thursday , July 9, at 2 p.m., from St. James Lutheran Church, of which she was a faithful member, always attending services until her health failed her. Hymns rendered were favourites of the deceased, "In The Garden," "In the Hour of Trial,"and "God Be With you Till we Meet Again." The organist was Mrs. Stellman Wentzell, of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, West Northfield. Pall bearers were Fred Veinot, Cecil Knox, Mervyn Mailman, Donald Dorey, Raymond Crouse, and William Whynot. Interment was in the church cemetery, Branch LaHave.

    3. Cleveland S. Semon 1973 Cleveland S. Semon died August 21 in Worcester City Hospital where he had been a patient for the past five weeks. Born at New Canada, Lunenburg County, on May 7, 1906, he was a son of the late Johnson and Laura (Silver) Semon. At the age of seventeen he went to the United States where he had since resided, having lived the past forty-seven years in Worcester. During this period he made frequent visits to Nova Scotia. He retired in 1971 after twenty-eight years as a machinist at Jorton County. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He is survived by his widow, Julia F. (Polo) Semon; four sons, Richard of nNew York City; Ronald of Washington, D.C.; Robert and Ralph of Worcester; two daughters, Marjorie, wife of Robert Homestead of Miami Beach; and Ruthann, wife of William D. Carroll of San Francisco; three brothers, Cecil of Boston; Lorraine of New Canada; and Lester of Liverpool. There are also ten grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers.

He was born and raised in Yarmouth and went to sea at age 18. Ships took him to Venezuela during war time with the Merchant Marine. He spent much of his career as chief engineer on tankers and freighters on the Great Lakes. His experience was used to his advantage as a commissioning engineer on the new 700 foot Hall Corp. boats, built in Sorel. After retirement in 1970, he and his wife, Evelyn, bought 60 acres of lakes and woodland in Raynardton and moved into their new home in Raynardton overlooking the Tusket River. He is survived by daughter, Jane, Brampton, Ontario; son, Kenneth, Kingston, Ontario; four grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. today in Sweeny's Funeral Home, Yarmouth. A private interment will be held in Tusket Cemetery, where he will be joining his predeceased wife. Donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia would be welcomed and appreciated by the family.

She loved the Lord and used the talents he gave her by playing the guitar and singing. Arnold Gregory Baker 2005 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Saturday, June 11,2005. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Arnold Gregory Baker, 1961-2005, died suddenly in a tragic accident in Edmonton on June 6, 2005, doing what he loved. Greg was born in Liverpool, a son of Evelyn L. (Ruth) Veinot, Bangs Falls and the late Arnold D. Baker. Greg was a carpenter and scaffolder most of his life, working in Fort McMurray, a job he loved. Greg was a great person, there was no one like him. He loved spending time with his family and all his friends in Alberta and riding his Harley. Greg was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Union. Greg will be sadly missed and remembered by his loving wife, Linda; son, Paul (Kelly); daughter, Sarah (Danny), and his very special grandson, one year old Kaiden, who he loved very much all of Red Deer; his sisters, Darlene and Helen and his special aunt, Roxie, all of Liverpool; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday, June 12, from 7-9 p.m. and funeral service will be Monday, June 13, at 2 p.m., both in Chandlers' Funeral Chapel, Liverpool, Reverend Tom Davidson officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Bog Road, Liverpool. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ALS Society.

Jessie Marion Morash 2007 Halifax Chronicle Herald >From the collection of Charlene Veinotte Jessie Marion Morash, 76, Blue Rocks, died Wednesday, March 7, 2007, in Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Lunenburg, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Ada (Corkum) Romkey. Jessie was a faithful member of St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Blue Rocks, where she was a member of the church choir, the Ladies Guild, Bible Study Group, and a former Sunday School teacher. She served as a representative on the Regional Council for the Anglican Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time in her garden. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Jessie is survived by her husband, Cyrus; daughter, Debbie (Winston) Skinner, Blue Rocks; son, Tom (Mary Jane) Morash, Lower Sackville; sisters, Daisy Hume, Garden Lots; Vivian Gibson, Hamilton; Kathereine (Maxwell) Knickle, Blue Rocks; brothers, Harold (Marjorie) Romkey, Garden Lots; Fred (Marjorie) Romkey, Lunenburg; grandchildren, Sarah, Joshua, and Ryan. She was predeceased by her brother, Gerald. Friends are invited to share their memories of Jessie during visitation on Sunday from 7-9 p.m. in Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg. Funeral service wil be held Monday at 2 p.m. in St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Blue Rocks, Rev. Douglas Chard officiating. Interment will be in Upper Blue Rocks Cemetery. Flowers from the immediate family only. Memorial donations may be made to St. Barnabas Anglican Church or Canadian Cancer Society.
