OBIT # 5126 - EASTERN CHRONICLE - 16 APRIL 1920: In the death of the late MICHAEL McNAMEE who departed this life on Good Friday, April 2nd, 1920, after an illness of about three months, in his 80th year. Mr. McNAMEE came to New Glasgow some 37 years ago, lending his assistance and experience to the late GRAHAM FRASER in installing the first COGGING MILL in Canada at the Steel Works, Trenton. He then left the company for a short period, but came back again at the installation of the 9 inch GUIDE MILL there, and worked on that Mill until a few years ago, when old age compelled him to take a back seat. The writer of this article never knew of a man to do the same class of work at these advanced years, proving the stability of the man and that he must have come off good Irish stock. "MIKE' as he was better known by, was a man who was held in the highest respect by his fellow workmen and a man who never had an ill word to say of anyone, a noble character and would there were more like him. He will be missed very much by his old associates at the Steel Works. His ready wit will long be remembered by all who came in contact with him. His cheery smile would always drive dull care! away, and those in trouble always found MIKE a true and sympathetic friend. His end came so sudden at last that the majority of his friends did not know that he had passed away until he was buried, or I am sure there would have been many more of his old friends at his funeral to pay their last respects. Poor old MIKE, he has now passed to the great beyond to meet his MAKER and get his reward, which will be surely rich.
