Born at Lake Pleasant, he was the son of the late Fletcher and Louisa (Acker) Tufts. Surviving are his wife, the former Minnie Whynotte; a daughter, Iona (Mrs. Richard Oakley) of Digby; a son, Parker of Lake Pleasant; two sisters, Meda (Mrs. Harry Wile) of Wolfville; Hilda (Mrs. Aseph Varner), of Lake Pleasant; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Gorman and a sister, Christie. Funeral service was held on Saturday, February 24 at 2 o'clock at Springfield Baptist Church. Reverend John Leddicote officiated. Burial was at Springfield Cemetery. Pallbearers were Laurie Charlton, Guy Sproule, Lamont Zinck, Oran Zinck, Mervin Mailman, and Ronald Veinotte.

OBIT # 5202 - EVENING NEWS - 5 JULY 1949: TRENTON- Neighbours and friends in Trenton were shocked when they learned MARY DOLINA CAMPBELL has passed peacefully away in the Point Edward Sanitorium near Sydney,C.B., on June 10th, where she had been a patient for almost four months. Born at Pictou Island, August 10th, 1933, she was a daughter of Mr.and Mrs MALCOLM CAMPBELL, Trenton.She had attended Trenton schools, she liked all kinds of sports, and was esteemed and beloved by all who knew her. Death coming at such an early age is deeply regretted, and the loss in the family circle is irreparable. Stricken with a severe case of flu, she developed tubercular spinal meningitis. After hospitalization she responded to to the treatment and was looking forward to being able to return home in a few days, when suddently the meningitis again gained a foothold and everything possible was done in an effort to relieve her condition and suffering , but to no avail, she gradually weakened and passed away to higher service. The funeral was held in the Church of the Nazarene, Trenton on Tuesday afternoon, and was largely attended. The service was conducted by Rev.Roland Stanford. The hymns sung were"The Old Rugged Cross","Abide With Me". Mrs. Issac Simpson and Miss Gertrude Stanford sang in a touching manner that lovely hymn"Sometimes". Interment was in Hillside cemetery,"until the day dawns and the shadows fall away". The pall bearers were: Douglas MacKay, Cecil MacNeil, Calvin MacCallum, Raymond Baglole, Dunn MacDonald, Hector MacDonald. Left to mourn the loss of a loving daughter and sister are her lonely parents; one brother, FRASER, at home; two sisters, MRS.WALTER BROWN, Trenton; MRS.ABE MILES, Sydney,C.B.

He was employed as a tugboat engineer for 20 years, serving the last seven years out of Bay Comeau, Quebec, until retirement. He was a member of St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Blue Rocks. He is survived by his wife, the former Ruth Knickle; three daughters, Cathy (Mrs. Timothy Spidle), Martin's River; Margo Mills, Lunenburg; Lisa (Mrs. Todd Zinck), Blue Rocks; two sons, John, Blockhouse; Roy, at home; four grandchildren.     3. G. Cecil Day August, 1976. Bridgewater Bulletin G. Cecil Day, 8, of Waterloo Street, Liverpool, died Saturday in Queens General Hospital. Born in Wales, he was the son of the late Roland and Ann (Whittal) Day. He moved to Prince Edward Island with his parents at an early age and attended Prince of Wales College, Charlottetown and then entered the newspaper field. He moved to Liverpool in 1931 and worked for the weekly paper, The Liverpool Advance. He later purchased the paper and fromed the Advance Publishing Company of which he was owner and editor until his retirement in 1969 and continued to write a column in the paper until the time of his death. He was a member of the Liverpool Lions Club and was past president and district governor of the Lions. He was a member of Prince of Wales Lodge AF and AM and past president of the Weekly Newspaper Association and a member of the Georgia Press Association. Surviving are her wife, the former Elizabeth Harlow; a daughter, Beverley (Mrs. Weldon F. Burlock), Kingston, Ontario; a son, Stephen, Barrie, Ontario; a sister, Elsie (Mrs. Mert Waddell), Newburyport, Mass.; and three grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers and a sister. The body rested at Chandlers' Funeral Home, Liverpool. Funeral service will be held today, Wednesday, at 2:30 p.m. in Trinity Anglican Church, Liverpool, Rev. Donald Ruggles officiating, assisted by Rev. Fred Gordon. Burial will be in Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Liverpool.

She was predeceased by her husband, Leslie D., a son Carson and two brothers. The funeral was held from Sharon United Church, Tatamagouche on Friday, May 13 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Kenneth O. ROBINSON officiating. Burial was in the family lot at Lockerby's Cemetery. UNKNOWN PAPER - 4 JUNE 1963 WARDSMAN MACBURNIE - Truro - Sorrowing relatives and many friends assembled at the Kennedy Memorial Residence on Saturday afternoon for the funeral of the late Wardsman MacBURNIE, who passed away early Wednesday morning in the Victoria General Hospital, Halifax. Rev. T.E. McLENNAN, minister of St. Andrew's United Church, officiated at the service, and members of the church choir sang "The Lord's My Shepherd". Percy KENNEDY sang "The Old Rugged Cross". The organist was Mrs. D.E. MacPHEE. The large attendance at the service and the profusion of floral tributes evidenced the high regard in which Mr. MacBURNIE was held and brought comfort to those who are left to mourn. Following the service there the funeral cortege proceeded to Barrachois, where interment took place in the family lot in the Bayview Cemetery. The committal service was conducted by Dr. McLENNAN. The pallbearers were Otis PATRIQUIN, Graham HOARE, George ASHLEY, Ernest MacKENZIE, Jack TATTRIE and James BATES, all friends of the deceased. Mr. MacBURNIE would have been 96 years old on Thursday, May 30 - the day following his passing. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Sadie MacDONALD of New Annan, 39 years ago; four sisters and one brother. He is survived by two step-sons, Earl MacDONALD of Bible Hill; Frank MacDONALD of Tatamagouche; three sons, Dannie of 34 Archibald St., with whom he made his home; Clarence of Oshawa, Ont., and Hugh of St. Catharines, Ont.; one sister, Mrs. Flora WILLOBY, Attleboro, Mass.; also three granddaughters, the Misses Flora, Jean and Sadie MacBURNIE of Tatamagouche.

She was formerly of Hemford and celebrated her 90th. birthday on December 24. She was born at Newburne and was a daughter of the late Perlie and Mable (Veinot) Oickle. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by son, Vernon (Rosaleen) Smith, Union Square; daughters, Verna Oickle (Robert Baggs), Norma (Alfred) Veinot, both of Halifax; Diane (Keith) McCarthy, Hammonds Plains; Sherry Johnson (John Speller), Sackville; sisters, Phyllis Oickle, Lower Northfield; Frances Feindel, Aylesford; grandchildren, Peter, Terry, and Trent Smith, Karen Robar, Kevin and Blaine Oickle, Tammy Ramsdale, Greg, Krista, Joy, and Jonathan Veinot, Jana McCarthy, Jeremy and Nathan Johnson; 11 great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.     3. John Blagdon September, 1985. The community of Riverport and area were saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Mr. John Blagdon. John (or Jack as he was commonly known) passed away at his home at the age of 61. He was born at Coombs Cove, Fortune Bay, Newfoundland, a son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Vallis) Blagdon. He was a seaman by trade and also worked for Riverport Seafoods for several years. He is survived by his second wife, Marguerite (Creaser) Wolfe Blagdon; two sisters, Roberta and Mrs. Archibald Cluett, both of Coombs Cove; two brothers, Leonard, Gander; and Harry, Coombs Cove; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Sarah; a son, Warren; and two sisters. Funeral service was at St. Andrew's Presbyterain Church with Rev. Harold McKnight, widely known automobile salesman. Mrs. McKnight was born in North Tewksbury, the daughter of Isabelle (Jessop) Green, of the Trull Road address, who survives her, and the late Hugh Green and had formerly made her home in Lowell before re-establishingg her residence in North Tewksbury 12 years ago. A bookkeeper, she had been associated with Bissonette Motors and the Bournival Chrysler Company, in that capacity for many years. A member of the First Congregational Church of Lowell, she held membership in that Amica Group of that Church. The funeral services were private on Thursday followed by cremation at Mt. Auburn, Cambridge, MA. Note: Susan is a decendant of Patrick Green/Greene of Green's Brook, Pictou Co., Nova Scotia
