    3. Ephriam Conrad 1940 Sudden death cast a gloom over First South on Thursday, October 10, when it claimed a husband and father in the person of Ephriam Conrad, at the age of 75 years. Though in ordinary health considering his age, he went to his work every day. His sudden passing was a shock to his family and friends. He leaves to mourn their loss his wife, who was formerly Agnes Mosher, of Kingsburg, and four daughters, Ma (Mrs. Bennett Lohnes), Susan (Mrs. Albert Wentzell); Muriel (Mrs. Foster Wentzell); and Jean (Mrs. Wesley Demone); four grandchildren and one great grandchild; one brother, Obediah Conrad, of Lunenburg. He was a son of Edward and Casandra Conrad of First South. He was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church and served as janitor for 22 years. The funeral service was held at the house and then to the church. Owing to the absence of the pastor, Rev. George Innes, the service was performed by Revs. E.V. Nonamaker and Shiery of Mahone Bay. Hymns sung were "Jesus, Lover of My Soul," "God Moves in a Mysterious Way," "Thou Art My Hiding Place," and "Abide With Me." The text, Rev. 2:10 (Be thou faithful unto death and I will give thee a crown of Life) was used. Interment was in the First South Cemetery.

Born at First Peninsula, Lunenburg County, he was the son of the late Charles and Hazel (Nauss) Zemke. He spent his early boyhood years in Bridgewater. He was employed with Sears until his retirement. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and travelling. Surviving are his maternal aunt, Helen D. (Nauss) Zinck, Blockhouse and several cousins. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Joyce Jandrew. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service at a later date in Sudbury.

He served as Secretary of Charity, Masonic Lodge, Mahone Bay for several years and was appointed Grand Steward of the Grand Lodge of Nova Scotia AF&AM. At the time of his retirement, he was a Platoon Chief with the DND Dockyard Fire Department. OBIT # 5209 - EVENING NEWS - 12 FEBRUARY 1946: Stellarton, Feb.12- The death occured on Tuesday, Feb.5th, of MARY THERESA MacDONALD, wife of the late MR.JOHN SINCLAIR (TAT) at the home of her daughter, MRS WILLIAM HOWE, Foord St., Stellarton. She was the daughter of the late Mr.and Mrs.ANGUS MacDONALD. Born in Pugwash in 1862, she came with her parents to Stellarton when a child of six years, later going to Westville and when a young woman, married JOHN MATHESON SINCLAIR, living in Westville where their four children were brought up. In 1914 they moved to New Waterford where she resided until 1936 when she returned to Stellarton where she has lived with Mr.and Mrs.WILLIAM HOWE until her death. Mrs.Sinclair was a very good living woman, a general favorite with both young and old, made friends readily and had the happy faculty of retaining their friendship. She will be missed greatly especially by her family who were very devoted to her and everything in their power was done to make her suffering easier, but God intervened and called her higher. The funeral was held on Thursday, Feb.7th, from the home of her daughter, MRS. DAVID ROY, Asphalt Square, where a large crowd of sympathizing friends and relatives had assembled. Rev.R.D.MacIntosh assisted by Rev.M.Y.Fraser conducted the service and spoke words of comfort to the bereaved. Members of Sharon St.John Church Choir led in the singing of "Safe In The Arms Of Jesus" and Mrs.CLIFFORD ROSS sang"The Old Rugged Cross" as a solo. This was a favorite of the deceased. The profusion of beautiful flowers, spoke silently of the esteem in which she was held. Mrs.Sinclair was predeceased by her husband eleven years ago. Interment took place in Auburn Cemetery, Westville. The pall bearers were five grandsons and one great grandson, CLEM ROY, HEDLEY ROY, ROY BALFOUR, ROY ALBERT SINCLAIR, BILLY HOWE, and DOUGLAS ROY. Left to mourn are two daughters, ANNA (Mrs.David Roy), Alberta; Mrs.WILLIAM HOWE; JOHN SINCLAIR, Westville; and ANGUS SINCLAIR, Edmonton,Alta; also one sister, Mrs.ELLA STEWART, Westville and a brother, W. C. MacDONALD, Foord St., Stellarton; twelve grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren

UNKNOWN PAPER - 18 APRIL 1950 MARION MURRAY - The Falls - Our community was saddened on Friday afternoon, March 24, in the sudden passing of Mrs. Marion MURRAY, a highly esteemed resident of this place at the age of 83 years. Although in failing health for the past year, her passing came as a great shock to her family. She took an active and keen interest in all the affairs of the community, and was ever ready to give assistance in times of sickness. Her life was filled with devotion to others, and her good deeds shall long be remembered. In her home she was tenderly cared for by her ever faithful daughter, Miss Jean and son, Gilbert, who fulfilled her every wish. He husband and eldest son predeceased her several years ago. In the immediate family she is survived by three daughters and four sons, (Anna) Mrs. Archie CAMERON, (Christene) Mrs. Archie McDONALD and Miss Jean at home; Donald in Pictou; John R., Medford, Mass.; Aubrey in Hamilton, Ont., and Gilbert at home, and several grandchildren. Four sisters also survive Mrs. MacKAY, River John; Mrs. Donald MacKAY, Boston, Mass.; Mrs. Catherine BAILLIE; Mrs. George MacKAY, Tatamagouche; and a brother George MacLEOD, The Falls. The funeral was held from the Presbyterian Church, of which she was a faithful member on Monday, March 27, and was conducted by a former pastor Rev. J.H. WILLIAMS of Scotsburn, N.S. Hymns sung were favorites of the deceased and were "The Lord's My Shepherd," "Sweet Bye and Bye" and "Abide With Me." Pall bearers were Archie CAMERON, Archie McDONALD, Lloyd HAYMAN, Clifford CAMERON, Donald MURRAY and James J. SUTHERLAND. The floral tributes were many and beautiful, bearing silent testimony from loved ones and friends. Interment was in the family lot at The Falls Cemetery.

    3. OBIT # 5206 - PICTOU ADVOCATE - 21 OCT 1927: ALEXANDER McLEOD, for many years a resident of Bandon, died Friday, September 9, at the home of his sister-in-law, Mrs.MARY McLEOD. Mr.McLeod was past 79 years old and had been an invalid for a long time. He was born in Seafoam, Pictou County, Nova Scotia on March 1, 1848, and came west at the age of 25, first locating in St.Paul., Minn., and later coming to Spokane, Washington, where he lost a younger brother who was killed in a railroad accident. Mr.McLeod was the eldest of seven brothers. He never married. For the past 36 years he had made his home in Coos County. He leaves to mourn their loss three nephews, ALEX, WILLIAM and JACK McLEOD, of Bandon; four nieces, Mrs.HENRY BELLONI and Mrs.OTTO DAVIS, of Coquille; Mrs.LEANDER COX, of Bandon, and Mrs.JAMES DOLLAR, of Union Bay,B.C., besides many sorrowing friends. Funeral services were conducted at the Ellingson chapel Sunday, Sept.4, at 2 o'clock. Interment was made at the Bandon cemetery.

Geraldine Mildred Fredericks 2000 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Friday, February 4, 2000. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Geraldine Mildred "Gerry" Fredericks, 85, Digby, died January 31, 2000, in Tideview Terrace, Digby. Born at Bridgetown, she was a daughter of the late Elias and Grace Elizabeth (Nix) Ramey. She was a member of The Salvation Army and a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Ladies Auxiliary, Digby. She was employed with CFB Cornwallis in the Civil Service Department. Surviving are her husband, Ralph; daughter, Elaine VanTassell, Digby; son, Rodney, Digby; sisters, Hilda Ramey, Clementsport; France Kennedy,Dartmouth, Dorothy Whitman, Kentville; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters, three brothers, grandson, David VanTassell. Visitation was held. Funeral 4 p.m. today, in Jayne's Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Leon Langille officiating. Interment at a later date.
