Born in Bridgewater, he was a son of Millie (Robar) Hirtle, Bridgewater and the late Ralph Hirtle. He was previously employed with Seamean-Cross, Halifax, Mersey Seafoods, Liverpool, and National Sea Products, Lunenburg. He was presently a valued employee of Gow's Home Hardware, Bridgewater. He was a former member of Bridgewater Fire Department and presently served as secretary of Petite Riviere Fire Department, where he received his 25 year service medal. He was a former chairman of the Second Petite Riviere Scout Troop. Robert was educated at Bridgewater Elementary School and graduated from Queen Elizabeth High School, Halifax in 1972. He went on to receive his BBA from Acadia University. He was a devoted husband to Debora A. (Conrad) Hirtle, his soul mate for the past 24 years, and loving father to his son, Reece, at home. He is also survived by brother, Corwin (Rose-Marie), Oakland; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; one niece and two nephews. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Bridgewater, Rev. Willis Ott officiating. Private family burial will be held at a later date. Family flowers only. At the age of 14, Milton began his working career with Lawrence Veinotte of Middle Cornwall, now his brother-in-law; later with Maurice Bruhm Lumber Mill, Middle Cornwall, and then with the former Nathan Joudrey and Sons and Dafron Industries, both in Blockhouse 25 years ago. Milton struck out on his own, founding and operating Milton Fancy & Sons Oars and Paddles. He was a faithful member of New Cornwall United Baptist Church where, over the years he was an usher, a member of the finance committee, bell ringer, and choir member.     3. UNKNOWN PAPER - SAMUEL TATTRIE October 25, 1964. Samuel TATTRIE died in the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital on October 25. He would have been 91 had he lived until December 1964. He was born at French River Colchester Co. His wife the former Miss Minnie DOREY, of St. Margaret's Bay, predeceased him five years ago. Surviving him are three daughters, Mrs. Marion SPINNEY, Mrs. Alex MacDONALD, and Mrs. Helen MILLET, five sons, Elzie, Laurie, Harold, Bernie, and Lloyd; sisters Katie and Millie; brothers Fred and Bert. The funeral was from Sharon United Church Tatamagouche, on October 27, with the Reverend Robert MILLS conducting the service. The Hymns sung were "The Old Rugged Cross", "Safe in the Arms of Jesus", and "Rock of Ages". The pallbearers were Roland, Dick, Dennis, Blair, Carson, and Basil TATTRIE, all grandsons of the late Mr. TATTRIE. The floral tributes were many and beautiful, showing the affection in which the deceased was held. Burial was in the family lot at French River. The deceased had lived all his life at French River.

Surviving besides her parents, are her husband; two daughters, Linda and Nadine, at home; three sons, David, C.F.B. Winnipeg; Harold, Digby; and Mark, at home; one sister, Lynnie (Mrs. Raymond Arenburg), Farmington; and one brother, Donald, New Germany. The funeral service was held at the Barss Corner Baptist Church on Friday afternoon with Rev. Carroll Armstrong officiating. Hymns sung were "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and "Abide With Me." Pall bearers were Clinton and Stanley Haines, Robert Feener, Ralston Eisener, Mervyn Nauss, and Wilfred Hull.
