Progress Enterprise Lunenburg- Word has been received by relatives of the death of Mrs. Isaac Zinck, a former resident of Lunenburg, which occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carpenter, at Boston. Deceased was _4 years old and before her marriage was Miss Sophia Smith, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Casper Smith of Lunenburg and is the last member of her family. She resided here until a number of years ago, when she moved to Boston to reside with her daughters. She is survived by a son, Charles, of Liverpool; and four daughters, (Corinda), Mrs. Aubrey Crane; (Florrie), Mrs. G. Carpenter; (Fannie), Mrs. R. McNaughton; and (Mary), a widow, all residing in Boston. Her body arrived here Tuesday, February 13th., accompanied by her two daughters, Mrs. Crane and Mrs. McNaughton, and her funeral took place from Central United Church on Wednesday.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Shawn Meisner due to natural causes on April 23, 2010. Born in Bridgewater, he was the son of Sandra (Hubley) Meisner of Bridgewater and the late Richard Meisner. A talented local artist best known for air-brushing murals and specializing in goalie masks, his designs and artwork can be seen throughout North America. A devoted father, Shawn will be deeply missed by his sons, Noah and Parker. He is survived by Melanie Boyer-Meisner, brother, Aaron (Shannon), niece, Kylee and nephew, Austin. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 28, in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Bridgewater, Rev. Paul Jensen officiating. No flowers or visitation by request. She had been ill for seven years and had been taken to the Aberdeen Monday afternoon by ambulance. She was the former Jessie MacArthur, born May 26, 1908, in Stellarton, a daughter of the late John and Margaret(MacDonald) MacArthur. A member of St. John the Baptist Parish, she had been a member of the Catholic Women's League and the Altar Society and active in both until her illness. She was also a member of St. John's Choir. Mrs. Chadwick is survived by her husband; two daughters, Norma, at home; and Anne (Mrs. Malcolm Bond), of New Glasgow; two sons, Ronald with the Bank of Nova Scotia at Saint John, N.B.; and David, at home; two grandchildren; five sisters, Bella(Mrs. Eric Strickland), Trenton; Winnie (Mrs. John Allan), New Glasgow; Margaret and Sadie MacArthur and Helen (Mrs. Ned Walters), all of Ottawa; and two brothers, Dan in Stellarton and James in Ottawa. A brother Jack was killed in World War II, and she was also predeceased by two other brothers, Alex and Bill; and three sisters, Mary (Mrs. James B. MacDonald), Kate (Mrs. Alex MacDonald) and Anne, who died of appendicitis at 13, as well as two others in infancy. The remains will rest at the Ross Funeral Home, MacDonald St., and the funeral arrangements will be announced later.

    3. UNKNOWN PAPER - MARGARET WILSON Central New Annan - The death occurred at Oxford on Monday, Dec. 13, 1954, of Mrs. Margaret WILSON, age 88 years. Last May she suffered a broken hip received from a fall in her home and had since been confined to her home. A short funeral service was held from Black's Funeral Home, Oxford Wednesday Dec. 15 at 1 p.m. thence to Central New Annan United Church where another service was held at 3 p.m. both services being conducted by Rev. G.N. TAIT, United Church Minister of Oxford. She had been a member of the United Baptist Church here for 55 years. Hymns sung were "The Unclouded Day" and "Face to Face". Pallbearers were Lawrence KENNEDY, Herman MacCONNELL, Thomas MacCONNELL, and Aubrey TUCKER all nephews of the deceased. She was predeceased by her husband the late George WILSON of Central New Annan in 1910. Left to mourn their loss are a son Fred A. of Oxford and two daughters, Mrs. MacKAY (Edith) of Saskatoon, Sask., and Mrs. FULTON (Louise) with whom she made her home with for the past twenty five years. Also, five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Floral tributes were very numerous and beautiful testifying to the esteem in which she was held. Interment was at Bell Gift Cemetery West New Annan.

He was a son of the late Mr. Dennis and Joanne(Sullivan) Carrigan of Westville. He had been a miner and retired in 1940, but worked for some time after that at the CNR roundhouse in Stellarton. A veteran of the First World War, he had been overseas for three years with the 85th Battalion and had been wounded at Vimy Ridge. Mr. Carrigan was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. He is survived by his wife, the former Mina Fitt; seven daughters, Beatrice (Mrs. John P. Doucette), Braintree, Mass; Johanna (Mrs. William Heighton), Florence (Mrs. John Copeland), Mrs. Willa Leigh, all of Stellarton; Virginia (Mrs. Webster Cunningham), Plymouth; Frances (Mrs.Harry Dooley), Westville; and Marguerite (Mrs. Max Barton), England; one son, George in Plymouth; five brothers, James and Edmund in Westville; George in Burlington, Ont., formerly of New Glasgow; Dan in Ajax, Ont.; and Albert in Boston; two sisters,Mary(Mrs. John Higgins) and Bridget (Mrs. Robert Wright), both of Westville. "Randy" Mosher, 51, Mahone Bay, died July 4, 2007, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Bridgewater, he was a son of the late Randolph Wilfred and Jean (Russell) Mosher. Starting in 1983 and for the next 20 years, he and his wife, Ramzie, owned and operated R & R Kwik Way in Hemford. During that time, he had represented that area as a councillor for the Municipality of Lunenburg from 1988 to 1991. While living in Hemford, he was a member of the New Germany Lions Club and the Masonic Lodge, New Germany. In 2004, the store was closed and they moved to Mahone Bay. When able to, he enjoyed travelling. Randy was always willing to lend a helping hand and always took the time to talk and have a conversation on many and varied topics. He is survived by his wife, Ramzie (Ali); daughter, Samira Mosher, Western Shore; son, Arthur Mosher, Mahone Bay; grandson, Saide Mosher, Western Shore; sisters, Arleen and Shirley, Halifax; brother, Ed, Halifax. He was predeceased by an infant son, Ali Randy Mosher. No visiting by request. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7, in Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay, Rev. He was the oldest son of the late Banford and Dorothy Nauss of Middle Cornwall. Russell was a fun-loving and caring man who loved his family and friends. He was an avid deer hunter who enjoyed hunting trips with his friends. Family and friends always enjoyed the stories he told of his hunting adventures. Russell was a good listener and was always there for advice or when needed to lend a helping hand. Russell is survived by his wife, Claudia, Lower Cornwall; sons, Paul and David; daughter, Barbara; grandchildren, Heather, Alan, Hailey, and Shelby. He was predeceased by grandson, Vaughan Galligan. Visiting will be 7-9 p.m. today in Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay. Funeral service will be celebrated 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, in St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Middle Cornwall, Rev. She was the former Dorothy Adeline Bell Dorrington and was born in Stellarton 44 years ago, a daughter of Mrs. John Dorrington and the late Mr. Dorrington. Besides her husband she is survived by one daughter, Janie (Mrs. Edward Walton), Hamilton, Ont.; who is now visiting here; two sons, John and Leo, both at home; four brothers, Perry, Angus, and Aubrey in Stellarton, and Clarence in Moncton. The remains are resting at the home, Mulgrave Row, and the funeral arrangements will be announced later.

    3. UNKNOWN PAPER - MRS. ARTHUR TUCKER 1939. The community was saddened when on Wednesday morning it was learned that Janie (KENNEDY) TUCKER wife of Arthur TUCKER had passed to her eternal rest. For almost two years she had been confined to her bed and had been a great sufferer but her suffering had been borne with great Christian patience and fortitude. She had been very tenderly cared for during this time by her granddaughters Mrs. George SNOW, Phyliss and Vera TUCKER and they did all which could possibly be done for her. A few days before her passing she was taken ill with flu and in her weakened condition she was not able to overcome it, and on Wednesday morning she passed through the dark valley to be with her master on that brighter shore where suffering and sorrow are no more. Throughout her life she was one of the good women of the community and filled an important place in church and community work, as well as in the home. The funeral was held from her late home on Friday at 2 p.m. and was very largely attended. Her pastor Rev. R.P. MURRAY spoke comforting words from Psalm 121 "I will lift up mine eyes into the hills from whence cometh my help". The hymns sung were favorites of the deceased "The Lords my Shepherd" and "The Old Rugged Cross". She leaves to mourn their loss besides her husband, three daughters and five sons. Mrs. Stanley MATHESON (MURIEL) The Falls, Mrs. Phillip DEWAR (Leta), Bible Hill, Mrs. Hollis CURTINES (Florence), Jamaica Plains, Herbert, Hartford Conn., Calvin, Boston, Mass., twin sons Ross and Ray in the Canadian West and Aubrey at home. She also leaves a large number of grandchildren and one great grandchild. The pallbearers were Hugh GORDEN and Elmond BAILEY and Earl McNUTT. The floral tributes were many and beautiful which testified to the esteem in which the deceased was held. Remains were laid to rest in the McNUTT Cemetery Tatamagouche Mountain.

Besides his wife, the former Gladys Gates, he is survived by four daughters, Elaine (Mrs. William Hoare), Dartmouth; Ardith (Mrs. Frederick Whiteway), and Yvonne (Mrs. Robert Tuck), both of Trenton, Ont.; Betty (Mrs. William Comeau), Chatham, N.B.; a brother, Murray, in Ontario; three sisters, Mrs. Rita Allen, North Carolina; Mrs. Ila Cole and Gertrude (Mrs. Arthur Baker), both of Kingston; and nine grandchildren. The body is at the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, Berwick. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Kingston Baptist Church, Rev. Richard Jones officiating. Burial will be in Tremont.
