    3. Comeau from Digby, St. Bernards, Belliveau Cove, 1886 to Haverhill MA-Leon Comeau b. 18 May 1836 son of Augustin and Marie-Madeline Gaudet married 13 Jan 1857 Doucet, Monique- his wife b. 8 Oct 1835 New Edinburgh d/o Paul Doucet (or Olivier-Paul) and Theotiste Melanson Their daughter Annie Comeau is my greatgrandmother. She married a William H. White (French speaking from Nova Scotia, both parents from Nova Scotia) in Haverhill, MA All issue are daughters- 2 Grace WHITE b. 15 August 1900 becomes Grace Sjostedt (my grandmother) 2 Maybell WHITE b: ? and disappears (at least I can't find her) 2 Delpha WHITE b. ? becomes Delpha V Brown 2 Bertha WHITE b. @1894 d. @1968 becomes Bertha Fortier The first questions is-Where are the odds greater? That Leon Comeau as a Roman Catholic Frenchman from NS would have his daughter to marry a White or would he (White) have changed his name from Leblanc in the period from 1880 (immigration) to 1892 (Marriage) in Haverhill? Question #2-Given that Leon and/or Louis (his son) have turned up as Households #1 and/or #2 on the 1881, 1901 and 1911 St. Bernard, Digby census, I am assuming they did not move much. Is there a census map anywhere? What is the starting point for this census? As you can tell, I have just begun. The Comeaus have been pretty well researched and documented. Until my brother in MA gets my grandmother's birth certificate, the White/Leblanc ? will wait. Thank you all, and as a cousin put it; Bonne Annee! Sue Susan M.
