The community was founded by Joseph Smith, American Loyalist from Ridgefield CT. and Daniel Soulice American Loyalist from New Rochell NY. John Soulis son of Daniel, married Abigail Smith daughter of Joseph. The Sulis-Smith cementary is located on the Harbour View Pt., the Thomas cementary which contains, Smith grave sites is on the Rd. leading to a campground, going past the Baptist Church,
