Hello List, Is anyone on the list related to Leon Comeau, born NS in July 1826, and if so, do you know the names of his parents? Leon and Monique (nee ?) are found as Household #1 on the St. Bernard, Digby county 1881 Census with their children, as follows. Leon Comeau, 55, b. NS, Catholic, Farmer-July 1826 Monique, wife, 58, b. NS, Catholic- Jan 1823 Louis, 23, b. NS, Catholic-1857 (?) Charles, 19, b. NS, Catholic-1862 Emelie, 12, b. NS, Catholic-1869 Marie, 9, b. NS, Catholic-1872 Annie, (my ggrandmother) 7, b. NS, Catholic-Sep 1875 Joseph, 4, b. NS, Catholic-1878 Charly, 3, b. NS, Catholic-1879 In the 1901 Census, Louis Comeau (b. 24 May 1856) and Family are Household # 2 on the St. Bernard Digby census. I beleive that Louis, as the eldest, remained in Nova Scotia. 1 7 Comeau Louis M Head M 24 May 1856 44 1 8 2 Comeau Marie F Wife M 25 May 1857 34 (sic) 1 9 2 Comeau Rose F Daughter S 30 Sep 1886 14 1 10 2 Comeau Lucie F Daughter S 27 Aug 1888 12 1 11 2 Comeau Marie F Daughter S 30 Jul 1890 10 1 12 2 Comeau Raymond M Son S 9 Jun 1892 8 1 13 2 Comeau Monique F Daughter S 4 Feb 1896 4 1 14 2 Comeau Bernard M Son S 14-Mar-01 The rest of the family emigrated to Haverhill, Ma in 1886 and are found thru out the 1900-1930 US Census, still living with or next to family.
