To all -- At present, the 1911 census records are NOT a political item, but very definitely an integral part of our genealogical search. I have been using Automated Genealogy which only includes the first page -- microfiche would have both pages. Last evening, while transcribing Barrington Passage records in Shelburne County, I came across the first HOME GIRL, Mary Crowell in Family No. 101, age 59. This means if she is one of the Home Children, she would have been born 1852. http://automatedgenealogy.com/census11/Test9.jsp?id=43155 [Do not worry -- I will be finishing the 50 lines -- I know the surnames] There have been many others, not listed as HOME Girl or Boy, but in a family listing are enumerated at the end of the family grouping. The family may have small children -- then we find older teens, all listed generally as Domestic. Very possibly we should be keeping the site and page number, also names of possible Home Children. There were about 100,000 sent over from Great Britain from about 1860 to 1930 -- at present there has only been 25% or more identified. Muriel M.
