She was born in New York. In 1806 they bought 200 acres of the grant to " heirs of Samuel Tidd " part of which was known as Cherry Valley. Also in 1806 David Tidd married John's daughter Rachel Caldwell, their first born was John Caldwell Tidd who grew up in the "Tiddville" area and married Rachel Cossaboom. Rachel (Caldwell) Tidd died in the early 1820s and David remarried and moved to Hodgdon Maine, as did John Caldwell Tidd, and Joseph, who later returned. There are many descendants of John Caldwell, through his grandson over in the Houlton area of Maine and beyond.
