To all researchers of Nova Scotian records:- Many across Canada, and from beyond Canada's borders are working very hard to obtain the release of the 1911 census records by 2003 -- the year it was supposed to be released. I am a native Nova Scotian -- my research is in these records, and am working very hard on behalf of many. Senator Lorna Milne has Bill S-12 almost ready for voting, but the ones in Ottawa need PROOF -- proof that we want the census released so we can get our family research done. The only PROOF "they" accept are signatures on petitions. http://www.globalgenealogy.com/Census/Petition.htm We need both House of Commons and Senate petitions. At present, all Nova Scotian Members of Parliament are supportive of census release, except one - Robert Thibault. You may write to him [email protected] The Hon. Robert Thibault is Fisheries & Oceans Minister. Let's work together and get the 1911 census released in 2003. Muriel M.
