Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/SOC.2ACE/1341 Message Board Post: I'm tracing descendants of Edward or John Edward Amero b. abt 1898 who married Pearl Thibodeau b. abt 1901. I believe he was the son of John Amero born about 1867 and Marguerite Doucet b. abt 1867. According to an Amirault website this John Amero was born in 1857 and was the son of Henry "Jenkins" Amero. The 1901, 1911, and his cemetery stone in the Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery in Doucetteville all give MY John's year of birth as 1867. I believe MY John b. 1867 is found in the 1891 census in the second division of Marshalltown, household #199 which has a John Amero aged 23 with wife Maggie aged 23 and children Mary L. aged 2 and Ada P. aged 1. I think Mary L. is Lillian or Lil and Ada P is Ena B. I checked the Digby census at this site which has 1871, 1881, and 1891: http://www.rootsweb.com/~nsdigby/census/index/amero.htm and I think the only John Amero b. in 1867 belongs to this 1881 family: AMERO, Henry 44, Mary 42, Jane 19, Anna 15, John 14 I can't find them in the 1871 census. Does anyone know who this Henry Amero b. abt 1837 and wife Mary b. abt 1839 are? Also, I can't find John Amero in the Digby County birth records, nor can I find his marriage in the Digby County marriage records. Can anyone offer a source for his marriage to Margarite Doucet? Steve Franey
John Amero in Digby Census records: There WAS a John Amero b. @1867, son of Henry (b. 20-Feb-1838) & Mary M. (?) Amero (b. 1-Jul-1838), residing in Hillsburg in 1881. There was also a John Amirault, b. @1857, son of Jenkins Amirault and Mary ?. He was listed with them at Plympton in 1871 and 1881. A John Henry Amero, at Marshalltown age 23 in 1891 (b. @1867), married a Maggie (same age) Same couple in Marshalltown in 1901 Census: 18 47 189 Amero John M Head M 24 Jun 1867 33 18 48 189 Amero Maggie F Wife M 1 Sep 1867 33 18 49 189 Amero Lillian F Daughter S 17 Jan 1889 12 18 50 189 Amero Ena B. F Daughter S 27 Jul 1898 2 I'd have to say the John, s/o Jenkins was b. 1857, but the John, s/o Henry is the one b. 1867 who married Maggie/Marguerite. > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/SOC.2ACE/1341 > > Message Board Post: > > I'm tracing descendants of Edward or John Edward Amero b. abt 1898 who > married Pearl Thibodeau b. abt 1901.
