Etta Matthews, Kate Ross, Nettie Munroe----also includes Gladys Munroe daughter of Nettie, Sadie ?? (possibly daughter of Nettie or daughter of Kate---both had daughters named Sadie). I am trying to figure out who Etta Matthews is and how she would be related to Kate Ross.... Kate Ross was born a Daley.... anyone have any info that might lead me to figuring out how Etta and Kate and Nettie are related? Thanks for any help you can provide

Gail, From what I have in MY files, I'd suspect Etta Matthews is Henrietta Daley, sister to Minetta "Nettie" Daley. Both appear as daughters of John Daley (b. 04-Apr-1830) and his wife, Eliza, b. 27-Aug-1838. If so, that "Etta" would have been born @1869, with Nettie born @1867. Henrietta is still "at home" in 1891 Digby Co Census, but does not appear with family in 1901. I suspect she would have married Mr. Mathews/Matthews some time between those census years, but I found no such person in 1901 Canada Census. Will check US census records, just in case they migrated south of the border. :-) Would surely be interested in a scan of the photo, as there are Handspiker ties to one or more of these women.
