Hi Cousin, I have always thought that Shippey Lent Jr. lived on Crocker's Hill in Freeport. Abraham Lent and William Lent appear to have lived "around the Cove" near the site of the wharf of Esrom Thurber's, who was , I believe, related (Esrom's middle name was Lent). The wharf, and large store (now gone), were owned by William Lent. If you have a good, clear, A. F. CHURCH map (and a strong magnifying glass), you will see an S. Lent on Crocker's Hill, just above Lover's Lane, on the right (leaving Freeport). Where are the original A.F. Church maps that were at Freeport ? When I was growing up there were two or three in the villiage, one owned by the Baptist Church. I wouldn't try to follow the 1871 Census, as it doesn't seem to follow along in order - seems to skip around when matched with other sources. Best I can do cuz, always open to corrections. Have you any idea where Shippy and Euphemia's home was. Near Or where Gliddon Thurber's home is??? I am going by the 1871 census in partial belief of this as well as he (and 2 door down neighbor William Lent) and William Lent were store keepers / Possibility of the "Around the Cove store" of Frank Lent that stood in shambles long enough for me to remember it. > > >============================== >Visit Ancestry.com for a FREE 14-Day Trial and enjoy access to the #1 >Source for Family History Online.
