    1. [CAN-NS-DIGBY] Re: Amero Store, Plympton
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/SOC.2ACE/847.1 Message Board Post: Sue--The Frank Amero store was actually located at Plympton Station, Digby Co., N.S. a few miles south of the main #1 highway and near the railway and Wagoner's Lake. It is no longer in existance. Perhaps removed after Frank's death. Frank was known in his time as "the Blueberry King" from his dealing in sale of blueberries. The young people of the community used to gather in the evenings at his place and he would entertain by playing the violin. I do have some information on the family but have found nothing on Joseph Amero or Mary Barnes. (Family tradition says she was English) Family tradition says Joseph was a ships captain and once shipwrecked but saved. In 1901 Joseph and his family resided near Annapolis Royal, although all the family dispute this fact and state that Joseph and his family always lived in Plympton Station. Sorry but I do not have access to any picture of Frank's store. Jim Craik [email protected]
