Hi John, I remembered seeing that name, so thought I'd see what I could find. Henry Stenderson not in the 1861 census at Freeport. In 1871, there is a William Stenderson, age 23, seaman, single, living with the Augustus Haines family. In the Freeport Baptist Church records (about 1882), members - Henry Stenderson, Almira Stenderson. In the Birth Records : Ada Bell Stenderson, b. 16 Aug 1873, to Henry Stenderson and Almira Plumb, married 1873, at Freeport. From book " Glimpes of the Past from Long and Brier Islands " by Donald Outhouse (1998), this ( from newspaper " Yarmouth Light ") : Dec. 2, 1890 - " Miss Nellie Thurber and Mrs. Henry Stenderson came home on the 21st. by S. S. Alpha, from Lynn, Mass." In 1861 Census at Freeport : John C. Plumb, total family of six, 2 males, 4 females. In 1871 Census at Freeport : John Plumb, age 50, b. N.S., Farmer ; Elizabeth Plumb (wife), age 51; Almira Plumb, age 22, Millner ; Alice Plumb, age 20, going to school ; Whitman Plumb, age 10.
