    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/SOC.2ACE/828 Message Board Post: Derek: The name Goudy is unfamiliary to me. I know that there were several "children" in that family, my grandfather (Frank S. Lent) being one of them. I have all the other names in my file somewhere, and can look them up if you wish. Dr. Lent was born in Freeport, Digby Co., N.S. on June 10, 1872. He was extremely well educated, with a Dr of Divinity, Dr of Laws, and PhD. He attended Brown Univ., Newton Theological Inst., Yale (PhD), Brown (DD), and Colgate (LLD). Besides pastoring churches he taught at Brown and Yale, and became President of Elmira College, NY, in `1918. He also was President of the Conn. Baptist Convention prior to Elmira, in 1915 and 1917. He retired from Elmira in June 1935, and passed away in December 1942. Freeport certainly can be proud of having such a man as their native son. Do you live in Freeport? I know that many members of the Thurber family came from there. I have visited there many times, - the last being over 20 years ago, and have always loved the place.
