    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Walsh, Welch, Walsh, Comeau Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/SOC.2ACE/834 Message Board Post: While researching my great-grandfather, Martin Walsh of Plympton and Digby, (originally from Ireland, who married Susanne Henriette Comeau at St. Croix, Plympton, Digby, Nova Scotia on 28 April 1857, and apparently died between 1866 and 1871), we learned that a Digby Courier newspaper article mentioned that he was "a prominent resident of this town and was one of those instrumental in the erection of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic church". We have since learned that the original St. Patrick's Church in Digby was a small chapel, built in 1843 "on the hill above the town". Does anyone know where this *original* Digby St. Patrick's Catholic Church was located, and if there was a cemetery associated with it? It is possible that Martin and Suzanne Walsh are buried there. Martin and Suzanne Walsh were the parents of Martin L. Walsh (1864-1935), later known as Capt. Marty Welch of Gloucester. website at http://hgea01.hgea.org/~twelch/
