I believe he was from Digby, Nova Scotia and married to Susan Comeau. My great grandfather Arthur William Doane was born on October 7, 1891. Thank you in advance for all your help!

In the Index to the Digby Courier 1896---1907 as compiled by Luellla Marshall there are two entries for DOANE---Capt. J. W. died 9 Dec. 1898 and DOANE, Mrs J. W. died 12 Mat. 1897 In the Index to the Digby Courier 1920--1929 there are again 2 enteries DOANE----Capt. James W. Death 10 Sept. 1920 DOANE---Mrs Susan Death---14 Oct. 1927 Sutname Index to the Digby Courier 1877---1895 DOANE---F. W. W. marriage Dec. 26, 1890 KEEP in mind. theses are the dates they appeared in the Digby Courier.
