He lived in the Bay St Mary area from 1834 until he and his family moved to Gloucester Massachusetts in 1887. He was married to Mary Gaudet [Godet]. He is my husband's great great great grandfather. Any information regarding the Robichaud / Robishaw family will be appreciated.

Surnames: WAGGONER/WAGONER/WAGNER Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/SOC.2ACE/1312 Message Board Post: There was a Johann Christoph WAGNER (all various spellings considered) (b. bet. 1750-60 in Prussia) who was a Hessian Chaplain in the Ansbach-Bayreuth Regiment in the American Revolution. In 1783, after having been a p.o.w in Frederick, MD since being captured at Yorktown, and staying in MD an extra while to marry, he was granted 400 acres in Clements Twp., NS. By at least 1784, he had claimed his land and moved to Bear River. However, after having "run afoul of Mr. Bailey," a fellow clergyman in Annapolis, and some other issues, Christoph(er) sold his land and "probably returned to Germany." That occurred by Nov. 1785 or '86. Hessian expert John Merz and I, believe, rather, that he returned to western MD, Allegany Co. Now, Stadtler states that "his [Johann Christoph's] sons remained in NS" and while Terrence Punch suspects that those at the North Range descend from Richard, those at Weymouth Bridge could belong to either Nicholas or J. C. Wagner. What I don't understand is, if he did leave sons behind in NS, why he would leave behind such young sons? At least one, had to have been only a baby? Then, there may have been a second Johann Christoph which confuses the matter.??? I would appreciate any help on this. Thanks! Susan

To all:- Remember our excitement last June 28, 2005 when the census records from 1911 to 2001 were released - at 92-year intervals!!! That was the date CENSUS RECORDS stopped being political and started being GENEALOGY - our records of the past. I have been transcribing a great deal in Shelburne County, Nova Scotia and tried to get a message to people who might be subscribed to that list -- my memo was returned. I know many of the surnames (more than in Queens County) and one needs to know these as we try to decipher calligraphic or cramped writing -- I prefer the first even if it has extra embellishments! The last page I have finished this evening is the following: http://automatedgenealogy.com/census11/Test2.jsp?sdid=2476 My message the other evening concerned Line 10 with many INMATES -- some old, some children and these could be missing people of your genealogy and family history. Should anyone be able to assist me to replace the ?? with letters, I would be appreciative -- only the one who has claimed the page may work on it - a security device against scammers. We are able to LINK to the 1901 census, which I have yet to do. Many more pages are needing YOUR assistance http://automatedgenealogy.com/census11/ http://automatedgenealogy.com/index.html One has to use email address as userid plus a password, and I would recommend a page not be claimed until 50 lines are done -- many have claimed unfinished pages with 1 to 4 lines. As soon as the page is claimed the information goes directly to Library and Archives Canada and the site is Canada-wide. It is an easy way to locate someone (providing the pages are transcribed) then one may search the (Ontario) GenWeb, the images or view the microfiche at a library. Let's finish the transcribing before estimated time of August, 2006. Many thanks to two working partners, Jenny from Texas! and Marlene Kasstan -- they often see what I miss! We are hoping Shelburne and Queens will be the next 100% list. Muriel M. Davidson muriel_davidson@sympatico.ca Co-Chair, Canada Census Committee Brampton, ON -- formerly Queens County, Nova Scotia

Comeau from Digby, St. Bernards, Belliveau Cove, 1886 to Haverhill MA-Leon Comeau b. 18 May 1836 son of Augustin and Marie-Madeline Gaudet married 13 Jan 1857 Doucet, Monique- his wife b. 8 Oct 1835 New Edinburgh d/o Paul Doucet (or Olivier-Paul) and Theotiste Melanson Their daughter Annie Comeau is my greatgrandmother. She married a William H. White (French speaking from Nova Scotia, both parents from Nova Scotia) in Haverhill, MA All issue are daughters- 2 Grace WHITE b. 15 August 1900 becomes Grace Sjostedt (my grandmother) 2 Maybell WHITE b: ? and disappears (at least I can't find her) 2 Delpha WHITE b. ? becomes Delpha V Brown 2 Bertha WHITE b. @1894 d. @1968 becomes Bertha Fortier The first questions is-Where are the odds greater? That Leon Comeau as a Roman Catholic Frenchman from NS would have his daughter to marry a White or would he (White) have changed his name from Leblanc in the period from 1880 (immigration) to 1892 (Marriage) in Haverhill? Question #2-Given that Leon and/or Louis (his son) have turned up as Households #1 and/or #2 on the 1881, 1901 and 1911 St. Bernard, Digby census, I am assuming they did not move much. Is there a census map anywhere? What is the starting point for this census? As you can tell, I have just begun. The Comeaus have been pretty well researched and documented. Until my brother in MA gets my grandmother's birth certificate, the White/Leblanc ? will wait. Thank you all, and as a cousin put it; Bonne Annee! Sue Susan M. A tip of the hat to transcribers in the County of Digby as all areas have been transcribed with standing at 100.03%. Lunenburg County and the Yukon territory are the other two with hopes of others very soon. The 1911 Canada census was released for all -- Library and Archives Canada receives the transcribings via Canada-wide Automated Genealogy. I agree, it is only the first page, but one can then search the images online, or by microfiche or possibly it has been been completely done by a genealogical group. I am using Automated Genealogy only -- first page of the census, but have found many people -- including my mother, her parents and siblings. Let's finish Canada via Automated Genealogy, please! To all:- I have been testing my knowledge of calligraphy and poor handwriting by transcribing 1911 census records in Queens and Shelburne Counties, plus some in both Yarmouth and Digby Counties. [I am certain there were handwriting tests, the ones who did not pass became the enumerators!] We do know that Lunenburg County has 100.01%, Yukon has 100.00 % so we hope to make the 100% scoreboard very shortly with Queens and Shelburne Counties. I have been fortunate as I have a working partner who hails from Texas -- Jenny can read what I cannot - many thanks! This evening I was able to go back one generation in the Hardy family from Rockland, this adds to my McIntosh family. Reading the transcribed records, one can easily find the maiden name of the wife -- either her father or mother might be living with the family. I know there are researchers in Queens and Shelburne Counties and you are invited to help finish this group of pages. Someone asked WHY the two counties were together -- originally it was all Queens County but was split following arrival of Loyalists. When searching on the Queens and Shelburne pages, Port Mouton West should be Port Joli -- I found my grandparents, mother and siblings there after they arrived from Bucksport, Maine. Port Mouton should be just plain Port Mouton to include the three areas. Another perplexing place is MILL -- Mill Village, Charleston and Danesville. To top it off, I even found more Hupman and Huskins families!! Come on -- join the fun!! Suggested "implement" -- magnifying glass! Questions? I will answer any -- if know know others who can do so.
