I know my Ruth Hamilton, d of Henry Hamilton and Mary Rice, married a John Clark in NS and came to Ontario. I am trying to find if John Clark was a brother of Samuel and Jonah Clark. Jonah Clark witnessed the second marriage of John Clark to Charlotte Mills. John left NS, had children with Ruth in Ontario. Ruth died after six children and John returned to marry Charlotte Mills. Jonah, Samuel and John list births in NS on the Southwold-Elgin Census. I can not prove any parents of John. Know there were two Clarks that came from New England and bought land from Col. Talbot in 1823. They were a John and William. That doesn't help my John being born in NS. I do not have a definite marriage date for John Clark and Ruth Hamilton. c 1820? Elijah Clark and William Henry Clark were born before my Rachel Clark 1827. Other children of John Clark and Ruth Hamilton: Mary Ann, Ruth Eliza, Hannah. Hannah was adopted out to a Hamilton as John couldn't take care of all the children before he married Charlotte Mills. I have Archibald Hamilton and Mary McGregor as parents of Henry Hamilton married to Mary Rice. Any help would be appreciated...I know a William Clark and a Mary had land in Ontario....

Leslie and Madeline's daughter Mary Adeline Burton, died quite young and from a genetic desease which was unknown at the time. Lots of tumor's in the eye's, brains, kidney's etc...I do not know if it was from the Burton side or the Powell side, but thought that might help somewhat if it connects to the Burton side ( Her father's side), then you may know of it...it just might help to connect the line somewhat. I really hope this fits into your line as I am a loss right now. Mary's children were Violet Lillian, Roney Havelock, Daisy Belle, Rosila G, Charles H., Annie E., George Edward, and Thelma May. We don't know if any of these are family names, but most do not come from her husbands side of the family, so clue's may be there.. My email at home is quigbg@ns.sympatico.ca Many Thanks Gail

It was named after Timothy Burton when he moved here from the US, they kept the name right up in the 1930's (I believe). As far as I can guess Timothy Burton is my 5th great-grandfather.
I'm interested in the descendants of Francis Harris, UEL, of Sandy Cove. His offspring married into numerous Sandy Cove families - Saunders, Morehouse, Gidneys, McKays, Burns, Crowells, Cartys, etc, etc. Ross W. McCurdy
"interested in the descendants of Francis Harris, UEL, of Sandy Cove. " Hi Ross, By any chance , have you run into the Burrell family? My 5th gr.grandfather, Josiah Burrell , DS of LAR, was granted 100 acres at Sandy Cove in 1787. I cant seem to find just what happened to him. One of his his sons married Polly Fox in Sissaboo in 1792. I know the Burrells had married into the Saunders Family in the last century but I dont have info beyond my grandaunt. Good luck on your hunt. Thanks, Marlene Norton- MA
