Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.canada.novascotia.digby/1379.2.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Is Marshall anywhere near Plympton because the 1901 census I have containing my great grandfather was located in Marshall. I also have an article stating that James Wiley was a native of Barton. Is that close? I know that he died at sea in November 1898 during the "Great Gale" off of Cape Ann. During this time, he was possibly Captain of the schooner the Daniel Simmonds. Anything further you can find out would be wonderful.

I am from the Plympton/Gilbert's Cove area, and can get you some information. Several years back I was interested in the Doane/Comeau ancestory and I believe I have notes on whatI found.I believe my father told me that the ship was carrying salt and it was too heavy a load and sank, these are stories that got passed down through the generations. I will ask him more questions, he still has a good memory. I was thinking that Suzanne was my greatgrandmother, but now I believe she is actually my greatgreataunt, sister to my great grandmother. I have the Comeau family tree, I'll have to recheck it. I will try to get back to you with more details... Yvelle
