I tried again and cannot get the recently posted obituaries. I have been away and just got back so am trying to get caught up on my email. I did not say anything until the other person said he could not get them either . Sorry I meant to send my reply to him directly but it was the morning we were leaving and sent it to the list by mistake, Can't wait to see what you are putting on the web site. You deserve a lot of credit as I think we are or fast becoming the best County genweb site out there. Luella

Luella, Could I trouble you to look for an obituary for Lewis Cook, who supposedly died in North Range 15 Mar 1909? He had an obituary somewhere because someone mentioned it to me. Also Howard Kingsley Tibbetts (known as Kingsley), died 5 Mar 1920 in Yarmouth, but buried in Barton, so perhaps he had an obituary here. Thank you, Diantha >I am afraid that is the best I can do . This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/SOC.2ACE/5.1 Message Board Post: This was taken from the first paper in July of 1893 (Digby Courier): Two young men Charles and Albert Cann aged respectively 28 and 23, left Westport early last Friday morning in a boat to fetch their trawls. They intended to return about 10:00, but did not. Towards evening their non-arrival caused so much uneasiness and positive alarm that the steamer Westport was dispatched to search for them. Two hours searching the vicinity in which they were unquestionably fishing failed to reveal trace of the missing boat. Old fishermen think that they overloaded their boat and swamped. Both young men were married and each leaves a widow and one child. Such a sudden and unexpected calamity on the brightest of summer days has cast a deep gloom over the whole town. The boat belonging to the unfortunate young men has since been picked up near Centreville by young men named Swift and Graham. When found she was bottom up and had gone down with sails set. One fish was found in the boat, a souwester, a pipe, 4 handlines and a compass. It is fully bel! ieved that she was overloaded with fish and swamped in the rips on the return home.
This is the family I am researching. Charles & Maria(h) were my great grandparents of whom I know little about. Appreciate any information. The "Brown Wrappers" were a series of articles in the Ft. Lauderdale, Fl sunday newspaper "The Sun-Sentinel". I have copied the articles and could e-mail them to you if interested, I and a group of seve others are currently scuba diving the site in hopes of documenting it for the state of Florida and having it designated as the eighth marine archaealogical sit in the state.
