Published in the Vancouver Sun and/or The Province on 1/5/2011 John K. CAMERON CAMERON, John K.Age 92, Born September 23, 1918 in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. Passing December 30, 2010 in Langley, B.C. John was predeceased by his wife of 64 years (2004) Helen (McLellan) Cameron, daughters Ann and June, grandchildren Kathy, Scott and Melissa, brothers Cecil and Doug, sister Beryl, mother Pearl and father James. He is survived by sons Jim, Don (Carol) Cameron, daughters Heather (Dallas) Watt, Dinah (Mario) Tomac, grandchildren Jackie, Mike, Diana, Ryan, Crystal, Andrew and Joey, great-grandchildren Bradley, Samantha and Jayden, sister Shirley McLeod, brother Alister Cameron and many friends and relatives across Canada and Boston. John began his working life at age 14 in the Coal Mine. At age 21 he married Helen and started a family. John volunteered for service in the Canadian Army. He was a veteran of North Africa. In Italy John was wounded and brother Cecil lost his life at Ortona. Upon recovery John finished WWII in Holland. Returning from war John, Helen, Jim and Ann travelled by train to Vancouver in search of a better life. Finding work in the L.C.B. warehouse retiring as a manager in 1981. There will be no funeral service and a private internment where he will join the love of his life Helen at Forest Lawn Cemetary.
