Thelma 'Tellie' MacDonald (Anderson) Neil Lively Captain Michael Aucoin Kenneth Timbury Hector MacIsaac ******************************************************************************************************* Thelma 'Tellie' MacDonald (Anderson) Born In: Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada Born On: 13/08/1925 Passed Away In: Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada Passed Away On: 14/04/2011 Thelma Leone (Anderson) MacDonald died peacefully at Seaview Manor, Glace Bay, N.S. on April 14, 2011. Born in Glace Bay on August 13, 1925 to the late Roddy and Mary (Beaton) Anderson, Tellie grew up on Brookside Street and later lived in Halifax, Sydney, and Lunenburg before settling in North Sydney with her family in 1960. She was a long-time member of St. Matthew Wesley United Church. She returned to Glace Bay in 2007 when she became a resident of Seaview Manor. Tellie was very active in Home & School Associations at both Central and Thompson High School in North Sydney where she served a number of terms in various capacities on the executive committee. She was a tireless volunteer, canvassing for many community organizations including the March of Dimes, the Canadian Cancer Society, and the United Way. Besides her parents Tellie was predeceased in 1998 by her husband of fifty years, Donald Ian (D.I.) MacDonald and in 2000 by son Ian, North Sydney. Tellie was the last surviving member of her family. She was predeceased by brothers, Lorne (Sydney River), Ross (Berwick) and sisters, Fran (Antigonish), Amour (Glace Bay/Seaview Manor) and Rea (Glace Bay). She is survived by sons Donn (Janice Ronayne) Dartmouth, David, Halifax, James (Shelley Decorby), Halifax; grandchildren, Meagan and Morgan MacDonald, Halifax, James Keigan, North Sydney; and one great-grandchild, Ian James Keigan, North Sydney; sister-in-law, Marge Anderson, (Berwick); brother-in-law, Earl Demont (Glace Bay); and many nieces and nephews. In accordance with Tellie's wishes there will be a family funeral service officiated by Reverend David Luker of St. Matthew Wesley United Church, North Sydney. On Monday, April 18 at 3 p.m. the family would like to invite Tellie's friends and neighbors to join them at a reception in the Memorial Room of Knox United Church, Commercial Street, Glace Bay. Cremation has taken place with burial to follow at a later date. For the last four years Tellie has enjoyed wonderful care and companionship while a resident of Seaview Manor in Glace Bay. Aucoin passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2011 in Harrisburg, Pa., USA. Visitation for Captain Michael William J. Aucoin will be held 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Monday, April 18, 2011 in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. The KOC members will hold a service at 7:30 p.m. on Monday in the funeral home. A funeral mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at St. Joseph's Church, Reserve Mines with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating and Major Jean-Paul Rochefort, Chaplain, con-celebrating. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery. A reception will follow in the church hall, all are welcome. Born in North Sydney, he was the son of Geraldine (Cox ) Timbury, North Sydney; and the late George Timbury. Kenny is survived by his wife Alice (Snow) Timbury; his children, sons, Brandon, Kenny and Kevin; daughters, Jillian, Kelsey and step-daughter, Cailin Ferguson; grandchildren, Cody, Jordan and Ethan. As well as his mother, he is survived by two brothers George and Lawrence (Patricia) of North Sydney; three sisters Leah (David), Tracy, North Sydney and Kelly (Donnie), Regina, Sask; also several nieces and nephews; several aunts and uncles. Kenny was predeceased by his father, George; his maternal grandparents, Freeman and Shirley Cox; paternal grandfather, Ken Timbury. Visitation for Kenny will be 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish, surrounded by family. Born April 7, 1919 in St. Ninian, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late Angus and Mary (MacDonald) Mac Isaac. Loving father to Blaise, Sydney, Catherine Ross (Tom), London, Ontario, Anne Marie Beasley (George), New Liscard, Ontario, Daniel, Antigonish and Joan MacDonald (Brian), Port Hawkesbury. Also survived by his grandchildren, Ginette and Mark MacIsaac, Tommy and Patrick Ross, Caleb, Joshua, and Daniel Beasley, Craig, David and Andrew MacDonald; four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Kay Rankin, New Waterford and many nieces and nephews. Hector was predeceased by his wife of 48 years Sarah Margaret (Sadie) Rankin; brothers, Willie A. (Mina), Robert (Mae/Florence) and sisters, Catherine (Alex Austin) Beaton, Isabel (Angus W.) MacDonald, Anna (Dan R.) MacDonald, Annie Mae (Duncan) MacEachern, Marie (William) MacDonald and Martha (Leo) DeWolf. After serving overseas during World War II, Hector married his wife Sadie and started their family in Port Hawkesbury. He was employed by Canada Customs and retired in 1983 after 28 years of service. Hector was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Port Hawkesbury, KOC Cape Nova Council 7924, and the Port Hawkesbury Evergreen Seniors Club. Hector loved visitors, meeting new people, violin music, playing cards and an occasional "dileag". His love of violin music dates back to his early years and continued throughout his life. His home was always open to violin players and those that loved Celtic music. Hector's first language was Gaelic, and through the years supported efforts to maintain the language and its rich Celtic culture. The family would like to sincerely thank the staff and residents of the RK MacDonald Nursing home for all their kindness, compassion and care shown to Hector during his stay. Visitation will be held Sunday 7-9 p.m. with a legion service at 7 p.m. and Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with a vigil service at 2 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Port Hawkesbury with Father Andrew Boyd officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery.
