Morrison Cecil Leon White Louise Roper ******************************************************************************************************* William 'Billy' Mason Born in: Scotchtown, Nova Scotia, Canada Born on: 27/10/2010 Passed away in: New Waterford, Nova Scotia, Canada Passed away on: 25/10/2010 It is with heavy hearts we the family announce the passing of our loving husband, father, brother and grandfather, William Gerald 'Billy' Mason on Monday, Oct. 25, 2010 at the Glace Bay Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Scotchtown, he was the son of the late John and Mary Catherine (Madden) Mason. Billy was a retired coal miner, and worked as a welder after the mine and belonged to the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters, Local 682, he was also a taxi driver for 40 years at Midway Taxi in New Waterford. He was a member of the Parish of St. Leonard, the New Waterford Pensioners Club, and New Waterford Lions Club; he enjoyed playing horseshoes, darts, and liked hunting and fishing. He was an avid Detroit Red Wings fan and watched many games with his son Bradley, who is a Toronto fan. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 46 years, Kay (MacIsaac) Mason; daughters, Shauna (Leon and daughter, Bria) Dominion, Denise (Jed) New Waterford; son, Bradley at home; sister, Helen (Keith) Evans, Ont.; brother, Johnny (Margie), New Waterford; grandchildren, Krystal, Kyle, Sharlene (Sandy), Gerralynn and Johnathan and favourite sister-in-law, Marion Reid. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Bernard; sisters, Maria and Johanna; brother-in-law, Michael MacIsaac and his father and mother-in-law, Archie and Ann MacIsaac. There will be no visitation as per his request. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford. A mass of celebration will take place on Thursday, Oct. 28 at 10 a.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard's, with Fr. Douglas Mac Donald officiating. Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, a reception in Billy's honour will take place immediately following at the Army, Navy, and Air Force, Unit 217, New Waterford, and all are welcome. Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Aubrey and Margaret (Walker) Richey. He was a member of St. Theresa parish and the Sydney Steelworkers Pensioner Club. George was employed for 40 years as a crane operator in the Foundry, Sydney Steel Corp., retiring in 1982. He is survived by daughter, Beverly (Gordie) MacDougall, Marion Bridge; son, Eddie (Sherry), Sydney; sister, Emma, Windsor, Ont.; grandson, Michael Richey, Halifax; granddaughter, Kimberly MacDougall, Edmonton; great-granddaughter, Shayla, Edmonton; and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Sally Higgins, five brothers, James, Neil, Howard, John and Aubrey and two sisters, Mary and Florence. Morrison Born in: Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada Born on: 29/04/1908 Passed away in: Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada Passed away on: 25/10/2010 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jennie Morrison of Glace Bay. Jennie passed away peacefully Monday, Oct. 25, 2010, at Seaview Manor where she had been a resident for the past two years. Born in Glace Bay, April 29, 1908, Jennie was the daughter of the late Alexander and Sarah Jane (MacLeod) McDonald and stepmother, Sara (MacCuish) McDonald. She was a longtime member of the United Church of Canada and in more recent years was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, Sydney. In Jennie's earlier years, before marrying the love of her life Layton Morrison, she was employed as a commercial clerk with Maritime Tel & Tel. She had a great sense of humour and a very quick wit. Her greatest enjoyment in life was providing a wonderful home for her loving family. Jennie also enjoyed her outings with her son Harold and visits from her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by her son, Harold, Glace Bay; cousins, Catherine Zellmer, Betty Engstrand, both of Florida, Inglis MacAulay, Clarence Miller, both of Glace Bay, Eileen McDonald, Westmount, Wally McDougall, Halifax; nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents, and stepmother she was predeceased by her husband, Layton Morrison (1990). Visitation for Jennie will be held Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in V.J. Louise is also predeceased by longtime friend Dennis Sutherland.
