McGillivray funeral Home website www.vjmcgillivray,ca *************************************************** William 'Bill' Ensinger Born in: Sheffield, United Kingdom Born on: 13/02/1938 Passed away in: New Waterford, Nova Scotia, Canada Passed away on: 15/09/2010 William George 'Bill' Ensinger, 72, of New Waterford, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, in New Waterford Consolidated Hospital. Born Feb. 13, 1938, in Sheffield, England, he was the only son of the late Anne (Jarrett) and George William Ensinger. He retired as an electrician with Devco after spending 15 years in the British Navy. Bill had a love for books and history and spent his spare time collecting stamps from all over the world. He was devoted to the love and care of his wife of 44 years. Survived by his wife, Joan (Mitchell) of New Waterford; sons, Michael, Hamilton, Ont.; Paul (Carrie), Barrie, Ont., and Timothy (Melanie), Chester, N.S.; grandchildren, Kalvin, Keir, Vincenzo, Caitlyn, Brianna and Maia. A private memorial service will be held by his immediate family. There will be no visitation at his request. All arrangements are entrusted to Sydney Memorial Chapel. 'Boo' MacQueen on Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010. Born Dec. 28, 1922, Arnold was the son of the late Angus and Sadie (Spears) MacQueen. Arnold leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Teresa (Paruch); loving daughters, Arlene (David) MacKenzie, Christmas Island, and Karen MacQueen, Sydney; grandchildren, Daniel, Scott, Tracey, Brett, Jillian, Kieran and Michael; five great-grandchildren; aunt, Annie 'Duck' Poirier; brother, William 'Tossie', Sydney; sister, Lena 'Bunny' MacDougall, Boston, MA; numerous nieces and nephews. Arnold was predeceased by his brothers, Murray 'Fox', Douglas, Carl 'Blackie' and sister, Mary 'Penney' Dean. For three years, Arnold served with the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps, spending two and half years in Europe and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 12, Sydney. He was employed with Sydney Steel (Rod & Bar Mills) and the lab for 38 years, retiring in 1984. Arnold had a long and happy life. A service to celebrate Arnold's life will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Saturday, 11 a.m., with Rev. Robert Lyle officiating. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery. Family flowers only. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.sydneymemorialchapel.ca. ****************************************** Joseph 'Geoffrey' Wilson Born in: Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Passed away in: Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada Passed away on: 15/09/2010 Joseph Geoffrey Miller Wilson, 68, of Pat Street, Sydney, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, in the An Cala Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Joseph and Doris (Robson) Wilson. For 35 years, Geoff was employed with MT&T as an electronics technician, until retirement. He was an avid angler and spent many hours, with his son, salmon fishing in St. Mary's River. Since high school, his passion has been ham radio operations. His call "VE1GW" is now a silent key. Surviving are his loving wife of 40 years, Sharon (Parker-MacKenzie); son, Philip; daughter, Doris MacLeod; grandchildren, Devan, Emma and Allison, all of Sydney and one brother, Peter Wilson. Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Geoff's life will be held at St. George's Anglican Church on Saturday, 2 p.m., with Rev. "Just smile and wave, boys" Condolences may be sent to the family at www.sydneymemorialchapel.ca. ******************************************* Margaret 'Moxie' Oliver Born in: Passchendaele, Nova Scotia, Canada Passed away in: Reserve Mines, Nova Scotia, Canada Passed away on: 16/09/2010 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing at home of our dear Mother on Thursday, Sept. 16, on week shy of her 88th birthday. She died as she lived, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Passchendaele, Glace Bay she was the daughter of the late George and Louise (MacDonald) MacMullin. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph's Church, Reserve Mines. A stay at home Mom, she devoted her life to her family which included cooking her famous Sunday dinners every week for 20-30 people made up of five generations. For a brief period, she was employed at Reserve District High school. Her hobbies included bingo, bowling, crafts, darts and shopping. She served 55 consecutive years as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies auxiliary in Reserve Mines and was also a long time member of the RMVFD Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her only daughter, Sharon 'Boo' (Russ) Inkpen, Newfoundland; sons, Bart (Burney), Lower Sackville, Wayne 'Mep' (Ethel), Dartmouth, Cyril 'Lulu' (Rebecca), Cotter (Margie), Dwight (Nadine), Blaine 'Jack' (Flo), Brad (Coleen), all of Reserve Mines; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and recently, a great great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sister, Teresa Howard who recently arrived from Tennessee to be with her, for which our family is most grateful and George 'Tiny' MacMullin, Windsor, Ont. Beside her mother and father, she was predeceased by her husband, Johnny, brothers, Cyril, Doddie, Phonsie, Gerald 'Mick' and George (Bub), sisters, Muriel 'Moo' (McMullin) Ryan, Lucella Mackie, Kay Bryden, Vera Caume and Eileen Podhy. Visitation will be held Saturday and Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A mass celebrating her life will be held 1 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Church, Reserve Mines, with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Beverly passed away Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010, at the Glace Bay Hospital. Born in Glace Bay, Beverly was the daughter of Rose 'Butts' MacDonald and the late Roy 'Soggy Roy' MacDonald. She was a member of Holy Cross Church, Glace Bay. She was employed at MacFadgen's Bakery as a baker for a period of time. She was an avid book reader and loved to play bingo. She was a friendly, outgoing and fun loving person that people loved to be around. She enjoyed playing with her cat, Sookie. She took great pleasure in talking to her best friend, Joanne Milly in Ottawa. Beverly will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Bruce; daughters, Krista (Basil) Totten, New Waterford, Samantha Coady (Terence Fletcher), Edmonton; brothers, William 'Billy' (Sharon) MacDonald, Edmonton; sisters, Norma MacDonald, Glace Bay, Toni (PJ) Wilson, Glace Bay; cherished grandchildren, Basil Ryan and Dawson Totten, Paige, Lilly and Griffin Coady. We are heartbroken to see our special son and brother leave us but we are thankful to God for the precious witness Tommy gave us in the gift of his life, God's loving presence among us. Just as the Lord sent us an angel, we believe that he now lives forever in the company of the angels and saints. Born in Sydney, Tommy was predeceased by Daddy (Joseph Jobe) in 2006. Tommy is survived by the love of his life, Mama (Annie Tomie), and seven brothers and sisters, Fr. Jobe, Ottawa, Denise (David) McKeigan, Sydney, Frances, Dartmouth, Michael (Joan), Edmonton, Simone, Halifax, Lily (Larry) White, St. John's, Paul (Jessica), Hudson PQ, and his 12 nephews and nieces. Tommy will also be sadly missed by his other loving family, Greg, Barry and all the devoted caregivers at Isaiah House, to whom we are forever grateful.
