Barbara was a member of St. John's Church, New Aberdeen. She was employed with Bell Telephone, Toronto, and also Maritime Tel & Tel, retiring after many years of service. Barbara had a great passion for music. She played the violin and piano and taught both over the years. She loved her family dearly and they meant the world to her. Barbara will be sadly missed by her brothers, Enis and Johnnie, both of Glace Bay, and several nieces and nephews. Born in Little Bras d'Or, Cape Breton, N.S., she was the eldest daughter of Edward Jessome and Katherine (Cassie) MacDougall. Prior to the Second World War she moved to Halifax where she met and married Sgt. Wilfred Stanley (Bill) Taylor. They subsequently moved to Antigonish in 1953 where they raised six children. Peggy was the heart and soul of her family and was a devoted homemaker to Bill and her children. She was later employed at MacKinnon's Pharmacy where she was known for her pleasant smile and her rapport with customers. She was admired for her gentle spirit and will forever be remembered as an elegant 'lady'. Peggy enjoyed knitting for her grandchildren, was a lifetime member of the Catholic Women's League and a cherished resident of Sylvan Valley Senior's complex where she resided since 2003. Marie will continue to improve others' health and quality of life, by being an organ donor. Prior to working at the Cove, Marie was employed at The Bay Store, Sydney, ladies wear department where she excelled in customer service and secured many friendships, with both co-workers and customers. Marie's true passion in life was spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed 'running the roads', stopping in for a coffee and some laughs with loved ones. Marie had a helping hand, a listening ear and a kind heart. Her presence will be missed by all who were fortunate to have known her. Cremation has taken place.
