Zelia Goode John Antle ******************************************************************************************************* Zelia Goode Born in: Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada Passed away in: Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada Passed away on: 22/09/2010 It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Zelia Goode on Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Sydney, Zelia was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (MacNeil) MacDougall. Zelia's courage and strength were long standing and remarkable throughout her life. Her sense of humour, timely advice, and warm welcome to all will be fondly remembered by those who knew her best. Without complaint Zelia would enjoy each day, each moment with friends and family and look forward to life's simple offerings. An avid skater and fan of her grandchildren's sport Zelia was a joy to all who knew her. Zelia is survived by her three children, Greg, Ottawa, Billy, Quispamsis, N.B., and Jody (Paul) Gentile of Sydney. Zelia was also 'Nan' to grandchildren, Sara and Laura Goode, Katie Goode and Olivia and Derek Gentile. Also surviving are sisters, Winnifred (Bill) Gallivan, Clara (Bruce) Billett, Rose MacNeil; brother, James 'Sham' MacDougall; sisters-in-law, Kay MacDougall, Kay Marie MacDougall, Hazel MacDougall, Mena Rhymes and Irene Leblanc; brother-in-law, Donald Antonello; as well as many close nieces and nephews. Zelia was predeceased by her husband Bill far too early following an industrial accident in 1986. Also passing before Zelia were brothers, Donald 'Stan', George 'Porgy', Gregory and Angus MacDougall as well as her sister Peggy Antonello, brother-in-law, Eddy MacNeil and sisters-in-law, Helen and Joan MacDougall. Visitation will take place today (Friday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel, George Street in Sydney. The funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Sydney, with Fr. Conrad Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.twcurry.com. ****************************************************** John Antle Born in: New Waterford, Nova Scotia, Canada Passed away in: New Waterford, Nova Scotia, Canada Passed away on: 23/09/2010 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of John Antle, 63, of New Waterford on Sept. 23, 2010, at home. Born in New Waterford, he was a son of the late Leonard and Emma (Roper) Antle. John was a member of All Saints Anglican Church, New Waterford, and actively involved there until his recent illness. He was employed with Devco for 16 years, working in Lingan mine. John thoroughly enjoyed antique cars as well as going on fishing trips and listening to music; namely opera, classical, old country and jazz. Surviving are his wife, Barbara (Ferguson) Antle; daughters, Janette Antle (Norman Matthews), Mississauga, Ont., Shauna Antle, New Waterford; son, Lenny Antle (Marion Sanders), Beaverton, Ont.; stepdaughter, Judy (Brian) Goetz; stepson, Michael Moore, both of Kitchener, Ont.; sisters, Shirley Kelly, Leona (Steve) Aucoin, both of New Waterford, Pearl (Rob) MacNeil, Summerside, P.E.I.; eight grandchildren, Johnny, Janine, Jordan, Jared, Bradley, Aidan, Madeline, Coady; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, John was predeceased by two brothers in infancy, a brother, Clarence and nephew, Adam Kelly. Cremation will take place. Visitation will be held Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral service will take place Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 11 a.m. in All Saints Anglican Church, New Waterford, with Rev. Vernon Reid and Rev. Judi Phillips officiating. Burial will be in All Saints Anglican Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the church hall. Donations in his memory may be made to the Cape Breton Cancer Center or the Hospice/Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton.
