Clare passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Dominion she was the daughter of the late Philip and Ellen (Campbell) Fielding. Clare was a member of St. Eugene's parish, Dominion. She was employed with Devco in the payroll department until she retired. Clare passed away peacefully after suffering a massive stroke. She was a delight to all who knew her. Clare will be sadly missed by her sister, Helen (Fielding) MacKinnon, Glace Bay; nieces, Angela (MacKinnon) Moorer, Birmingham, Alabama, Ellen (David) Thomey, Sydney, Cathy Fielding, Boston, Colleen (Fielding) Verner, Boston; and sister-in-law, Jessie Fielding, Boston. Also surviving are cherished great nieces and nephews, Mitchell Moorer, John Moorer, Wyatt Moorer, Catherine Thomey, Angela Thomey. Besides her parents, Clare was predeceased by a sister, Mary, brothers, Bruno, Charles, Leonard and brother-in-law, John Joseph MacKinnon. Visitation for Clare Fielding will be held Friday, June 24, 2011, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A funeral mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2011, at St. Eugene's parish, Dominion, with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Born in Sydney, he was the son of Mrs. Nora (Hillier) Falconer and the late Cecil Falconer. Brian enjoyed going to flea markets on Saturday morning and socializing with many friends at Branch 12. He will be missed by all who knew him. Brian is survived by his two sisters, Lisa and Darlene; uncle, Doug (Ann) Falconer; and his dear and best friend, Helen Chesson. Cremation has taken place. Born in Burin, Newfoundland, he was a son of Alice (Hines) Hodder of Grand Bank, Newfoundland, and of the late Samuel Hodder. Ken worked for many years as a fisherman and later as a chef, aboard the National Sea Products vessels. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Anglican Church and loved spending time with his large family. Born in Fredericton, N.B., he was a son of Jeannine (Arseneau) Crawford and the late William Crawford. His loving wife of 59 years, Mrs. Irma (Catharine) Confiant (MacAulay) born Sydney Mines, N.S., passed away Dec. 16, 2010 in St. Catharines, Ont. Cremation and private services have taken place in Ontario. As per their final wishes, Frank and Irma will be returned to their beloved Cape Breton by their children for interment in the Confiant family plot in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney. A graveside service will take place Friday, June 24, 2011, at 2 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
