Published in the Toronto Star on June 23, 2011 Emily (Macdonald) Cathcart CATHCART, Emily (MacDonald) - In Halifax on June 19, 2011, Emily, age 89, left the arms of her children for the last time. Surviving are children Allana (John Daly), Teresa (Ron Allman), Cyril (Karen Fischer) and Christena (Andy Delaney); sisters Tiny MacDonald, Rita Davis, and Jean MacDonald and brothers Stanley, Joe and Raymond (Beverly Marsh). Emily was predeceased by her parents John Malcolm and Martha (Gillis) MacDonald, husband Allan, son Gordon, granddaughter Bernadette, brothers Alex, Danny, Dave and Robbie. There will be a Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 133 Murray St., Brantford, on Saturday, June 25 at 10 a.m. Following burial of Emily's cremains at Holy Cross Cemetery, Governor's Road, Brantford there will be a celebration of Emily's life at Teresa's home, 42 Jo Whitney Court, Brantford. A Memorial Mass and celebration of her life will be held in New Waterford, NS later in the summer. Donations, in her memory, may be made to a charity of one's choice.
