Francis (Frank) was born on May 7, 1922 in Sydney, Nova Scotia and spent his early childhood growing up in Hampton. He joined the air force in 1944 as a Pilot and at that time married his childhood sweetheart Evelyn (Randles) MacPhee. After the war, Frank and his wife raised their two sons Frank Jr. and Richard in Rothesay. Frank spent many enjoyable years watching his children grow and as a flight instructor and founding member of Fundy Aviation. Frank was a career employee of CN for 46 years and made long lasting friendships. In 1989 Frank decided to pursue a life long dream of obtaining a university degree which he attained in 1993. In 1994 Frank became the proud grandfather to his granddaughter Mackenzie and he spent the next 16 years joyfully participating in her life. Frank will be remembered by many as a scholar, humanitarian, human rights advocate, mentor and friend. He is survived by his sons Richard (Jill) and Frank, granddaughter Mackenzie and brother Ervin. He was predeceased by his wife Evelyn, parents Michael and Rosina (Rockwood) MacPhee, brothers Mike, David, Roy and Doug, sisters Olive, Betty and Marguerite. Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. Saint John (646-2424). Following cremation, the visitations will be held on Friday August 13, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial service will be held on Saturday August 14, 2010 at 1 p.m. He would be honored if friends remember him by your kind recognition of his favorite charities, Romero House and Hestia House.
