Edison's full obituary may be viewed at www.vjmcgillivray.ca. **************************************** Stewart Dodson Passed Away In: Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Stewart Douglas Dodson, at the age of 58, from a hockey accident at the Stanley Cup playoffs in Toronto, Canada. A speeding puck hit him squarely between the eyes. Stewart loved Susan Weldon, hockey, writing, elocution, poetry, music, people, dogs, Tim Hortons and golf. He drove taxi for 20 years until he was robbed at knifepoint. This led to an early retirement. He attended Colby and Woodland schools in Sydney. He graduated with a sense of humour and adventure from Upland High School, California in 1970. He later graduated from Sharon School of Broadcast, Pennsylvania in 1975. He is predeceased by billions of people including his parents, William and Jean (Stewart) Dodson; and is survived by billions of people including his amazing siblings, Heather (Dodson) Thunell, John Dodson, Shauna (Dodson) Miller and Donald Dodson and numerous nieces and nephews, Adam, Britta, Peter, Kiersten, Alex, Sam, Joni, Casi, Jordan, Brian, Karli, Berg, Ethan and Evan; Jim McKay was Stew's good friend and roommate. Special thanks to the staff of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for their care and compassion. Sharon Atha helped as high as the sky. A roast/wake will be held at Chants Funeral Home Friday, July 1, 19:00-21:00. A service will be held also at Chants on Saturday, July 2, 14:00. Born in Glace Bay April 12, 1946, he was the son of the late Neil and Nellie McNeil Centerville, Reserve Mines. Ronnie is survived by his wife, Diane; daughter, Heather (Steve); son, Shawn (Stephanie); three grandchildren; brother, Johnnie (Helen) McNeil; sisters, Patsy (Lewis) Dean, Linda (Roy) Ward, Timmy, Audrey (Mark) Sinyerd. 'Winnie' MacDonald, 80, of East Windsor, loving wife of Donald A. MacDonald, died peacefully Sunday, June 26, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. Winnie was born in Glace Bay, the daughter of the late James and Winnifred MacMullin and lived in East Windsor for many years. She worked at Specialty Retailing (Casual Corner) for 10 years, retiring in 1988. She was a communicant of St. Catherine Church and a member of the Altar Rosary Society. Winnie was an avid Boston Red Sox and UConn Women's Basketball fan. She also enjoyed trips to Glace Bay to spend time with her family and friends. Besides her husband, Winnie is survived by her son, Darryl (Cheryl), their daughter, Kimberly; her daughters, Colleen (Michael), their children, Ashley and Michael, Lori (Jeff), their sons, Jeffrey and Justin and Jennifer (Chris), their daughter, Lindsey; brothers, Neil (Betty) MacMullin, Frank McDonald and many nieces and nephews. Born in Sydney Mines, she was the daughter of the late Billy and Peggy (Higgins) MacNeil. Marguerite was a member of Holy Redeemer parish, where she served as Eucharistic Minister. Prior to her marriage, Marguerite was employed by Canada Post, Sydney Mines. In her later years, she worked as an assistant manager of Lindor clothing store in Bedford, from which she retired. Surviving are her son, Robert 'Bob', at home; brother-in-law, Gerard (Valerie) LeBlanc; sister-in-law, Brenda LeBlanc; several nieces and nephews and special niece, Ellen (Roddie) MacKenzie; grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Marguerite was predeceased by her husband of 23 years, Patrick and sisters, Anna MacNeil, Jean Campbell, Marjorie MacLean and Ellen MacNeil. Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Friday 7-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at Holy Redeemer Church on Saturday 11 a.m., with Rev. Errol MacDonald officiating. Ray Huntley officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, next to her beloved parents, Anna and Melvin MacPherson.
