Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Harris and Doreen (Williams) Reid. Cecil gave 180% to family, work and life. He enjoyed life. He enjoyed nature. He was creative. Ask Cecil to make something, and he could do it. He was janitor at Churchill School for years, but he was more than a janitor, he was a carpenter, plumber, Mr. Fix it, and confidante. He could make things from wood, plastic, anything, you name it. How many houses did he design for family and friends, and do the carpentry, as well? How many pieces of his creative talents are displayed in any of our homes? His shop was the basement and garage/shed at 3 Reids Lane, Prime Brook. He was prompt, always on time and reliable. His word could be counted on. Cecil will be missed by many but will never be forgotten. Cecil is survived by his brothers, Lloyd (Frances) Reid and Neil (Margie) Reid; sisters, Velma (Richard) Wace, Irene (Dr. Lorne) MacLellan and Evelyn Carver; brother-in-law, Roger MacQueen, and sister-in-law, Helen Reid. He was an uncle to several nieces and nephews. Cecil was predeceased by brothers, Melvin and Wilfred; sisters, Mildred Reid, Marjorie MacQueen and Lena Evans and brothers-in-law, Albert Carver and Lew Evans. Visitation will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Thursday from 1-2 p.m., followed by a service in the chapel at 2 p.m., with Rev. Ritchie Robinson officiating. Interment in Hardwood Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.sydneymemorialchapel.ca. ******************************************************************************************************* Cape Breton Deaths courtesy of CBGHA http://www.cbgen.org
