Teresa 'Tootsie' Fraser Agnes Bennett MARIE (DUNN) MACDONALD ******************************************************************************************************* Teresa 'Tootsie' Fraser Born In: Nova Scotia, Canada Born On: 01/01/1921 Passed Away In: Nova Scotia, Canada Passed Away On: 18/03/2011 It is with great sadness, that we the family, announce the passing of our dear mother Teresa Ann 'Tootsie' Fraser on Friday, March 18, 2011 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born in Castle Bay, she was the daughter of the late Alexander R. and Elizabeth (Farrell) MacNeil of Big Pond. Teresa was employed for 23 years at the Cape Breton Hospital retiring in 1981. A loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and sister, she is survived by son Donald (Francine), Portage, with whom she resided for 4 1/2 years before moving to Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Levattes Lane nine months ago; daughter Mary (Angus) MacDonald, Ottawa Brook; sisters, Irene Ruelland, Christine (Lloyd) White, Margaret (Bill) MacInnis, Charlotte (Walter) Mulak; brother, Stan (Gwen) MacNeil; sisters-in-law, Eileen and Evelyn; brother-in-law Johnny Murphy; grandchildren James (Kelly), Michelle, Marlene (Gary), Charlene (Robert), Tanya (John) and great grandchildren Michael, Kyle, Allison, Michael and Maren. She was predeceased by her husband Daniel; brothers, Malcolm, Pius, Hugh, John and Francis; sisters, Mary Lalo and Bernadette Murphy. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the direction of S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 21, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Church, East Bay with Fr. Frank Abbass officiating. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer Society or the St. Mary's Church Renovation Fund. Born in Glace Bay she was the daughter of the late Frank and Emily (Hawkins) Payne. Agnes was a member of the former Epworth United Church. Agnes is survived by one son, James (Lynn); daughters, Joan (Allan) MacKenzie, with whom she resided for the last 5 years, June (Tom) Bell, Thedfort, On., Florence Ralph, Glace Bay; grandchildren, Aleacia Bennett (Paul LeBlanc), Fredricton, N.B., Jade (Adam) Harrold, Beijing, China, Janet (J.R.) MacDonald, Darlene (Devon) Green, Athena (Matthew) Stevens, London, On., Crissy (Larry) Scurry, James Hofstra, On., Amanda (Shane) MacGillvray, MJ Brown and James Ralph, all of Glace Bay; sons-in-law; Jack Ralph and Jack Dodge, On. Also surviving are several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and sisters, Georgina MacDonald and Joyce Brown of Ontario. Agnes was predeceased by her husband James C.N. in 1975; daughters, Emily Ralph in July, 2010 and Heather Dodge in 2003. She was also predeceased by sisters, Elsie Warr, Vera Griffin, Nel Laquement, Ethel Newell, Peg Boutilier, Christene Burrage and brothers, Bill, Fred and Lew Payne. Mom will be forever missed for her great love of all children and animals. Visitation for Agnes Bennett will be held on Monday, March 21, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Patten Funeral Home Chapel with Nancy Whitney-Latham Interment to follow in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
