Donald 'Don' Fairbairn Marston Isabel Viola Rogers Gerald Petitpas ******************************************************************************************************* Donald 'Don' Fairbairn Marston Born in: Simcoe, Ontario, Canada Born on: 03/08/1959 Passed away in: Gaspereau, Nova Scotia, Canada Passed away on: 12/11/2010 Retired Sergeant Donald 'Don' Fairbairn Marston of Gaspereau, Kings County, passed away peacefully in his home, with his family on Nov. 12, 2010. Don was born in Simcoe, Ont., to the late Errol and Katherine (Archibald) Marston on June 10, 1933. He married Shirley Lorraine (Tulk) on Aug. 3, 1959. The loving father of Victoria Marston, Pamela Marston-Berk (John Berk), Julie Marston (Bryant Deveaux) and Ben Marston (Cher Smith). Adoring grandfather of David Marston, Bryan, Maggie, and Robert Berk, Wyllum and Sophie Deveaux. Don leaves a brother, David John Marston (Anne). Predeceased by his brother, Robert Marston and his sister, Nora Carlaw. Don was a RCMP Dog Master from 1954 to 1975 stationed in St. John's, N.L., Sydney, N.S., and Halifax, N.S. He was also the provincial inspector for the Nova Scotia SPCA from 1979-1994. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16 in St. John's Anglican Church, Wolfville, Rev. Sandra Fyfe officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. A reception will follow in the parish hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Carey Me Fund, Valley Regional Hospital or a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. She was a loving wife and mother. She was involved with Girl Guides, choir and a longstanding member of the CWL at Immaculate Conception parish. Isabel was the daughter of the late Hector and Lavina (MacCormick) MacNeil. She is survived by daughter, Yvonne (Irvin) Isaak, Emma Lake, Sask.; grandson, Ryan (Monica) Isaak and great-grandson, Grant Owen Isaak, Saskatoon, Sask.; sister-in-law, Perky Rogers, Sydney, N.S.; brother-in-law, Dr. Gerald Rogers, Hanover, Ont.; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Donald MacLean Rogers, one son in infancy, sisters, Irene, Tricilla, Camilla, and brother, Vincent. Visitation Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Curry's Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay. The funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating. ************************************ Gerald Petitpas Born in: Rocky Bay, Arichat, Nova Scotia, Canada Passed away in: Sydney River, Nova Scotia, Canada Passed away on: 11/11/2010 We are deeply saddened by the death of our loved one, Gerald Petitpas who passed away at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010. Born in Rocky Bay, Arichat, he was the son of Howard Petitpas and Margaret Bowen. Gerald was a very kind and gentle person; he loved to dance and in his earlier years loved gardening. Besides his parents, he is survived by several half sisters, half brothers and nieces and nephews. Gerald was predeceased by one brother, Billy and a half sister, Karen. Visitation for Gerald will be held at the J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St. Sydney Mines, today (Monday Nov. 15) from 7-9 p.m. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Brookside Cemetery, Sydney Mines.
