Allan James MacLean ******************************************************************************************************* Allan James MacLean Born in: Florence, Nova Scotia, Canada Born on: 25/03/1939 Passed away in: North Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada Passed away on: 08/11/2010 We regret to announce the passing of Allan James MacLean, 71, of North Sydney, on Monday, Nov. 8, 2010, at his home. Born in Florence on March 25, 1939, he was the son of the late Allan James and Mary Catherine 'Kay' (Birmingham) MacLean. He was a member of Wilson United Church in Florence, and also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 83, Florence. In his younger years, Allan was a member of the Canadian Air Force. He worked for many years with Devco as an electrician. He was an avid fisherman, and was well known for his fly-tying. He is survived by his sisters, Nancy (Terry) Haley and Linda MacLean, both of Sydney. He is also survived by nieces, Kathy Haley, Terri Lynn Timmons and nephew, Allan Haley. Besides his parents, Allan was predeceased by a sister, Eva Caroline, and a brother, Billy. There will be no visitation. A graveside committal service will take place at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. Donations in Allan's memory may be made to Wilson United Church, the Northside Hospital Foundation, or to a charity of one's choice.
