Donald Tryon George 'Winston' Bobbett ******************************************************************************************************* Raymond Francis Williams Born in: Point Edward, Nova Scotia, Canada Born on: 31/07/1947 Passed away in: Whitney Pier, Nova Scotia, Canada Passed away on: 08/11/2010 It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Raymond Williams, 63, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on Nov. 8, 2010, surrounded by his loving family. Born July 31, 1947 in Pt. Edward, N.S., he was the son of the late Charles and Doreen (Strickland) Williams. In his earlier days, Ray was a truck driver and then worked for Sullivan's Environmental Services. He was an avid gardener and landscaper. He was an outdoorsman when it came to fishing. Ray enjoyed his days taking care of the home, nourishing his wife and doing for others. He will always be remembered as being a very hard worker. Raymond is survived by his wife, Theresa 'Little Woman Tessy'; daughter, Raylene; stepdaughters, Evelyn (Tim), Marilyn (Clyde, predeceased), Susan (Donald, Best Buddy) and Kathy (Vince); stepsons, John (Darlene), Wally (Earlene) and Colby (Denise); sisters, Louise (Gary) Williams, Marie (Garry) Mortimer, Marion (Angus) MacAskill, Kaye (Gerard) Currie and Linda (Jim) Collins; brothers, Harold (Barb), Joe (Rose), Roland (Effie), Charles (Ruthanne) and Lawrence; as well as three grandchildren and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, Raymond was predeceased by his sisters, Shirley Henze and Barbara Birch, and a brother, Norman. There will be no visitation for the late Raymond Williams. Funeral service to celebrate Raymond's life will be held Friday, Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. at St. Andrew's United Church with Rev. Stephen Mills officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. Donations in Raymond's memory may be made to Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton or charity of one's choice. Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late John Robert and Lena (Deveaux) MacDonald. Rita was a member of the Parish Church of St. Leonard and theNew Waterford Pensioners' Club. At one time, she enjoyed going to bingo and dances in town. She also loved going for drives and was an avid New York Yankees and Montreal Canadiens fan. Rita is survived by her longtime companion, Bernie Edwards; son, Bobby Smith, Toronto; brother, Simon (Pat) MacDonald, Hamilton, Ont.; sisters, Helen Chiasson, Oshawa, Ont., Jean Chiasson, Hamilton, Ont.; special friends, Terra, Nevaeh and Adam. She was predeceased by her husband, Dave Smith, brothers, Fred MacDonald, Peter MacDonald, Bill Murphy, sisters, Irene Casasanta, Margaret Murphy, uncle, Angus Young. Visitation will be held Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral mass of celebration for Rita will take place Friday, Nov. 12 at 10 a.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue, with Fr. Doug MacDonald officiating. Born on June 23, 1960, in Arnstadt, Germany, Karin was the daughter of Mrs. Christa (Wallendorf) Döll, Arnstadt, Germany, and the late Manfred Döll. Karin is survived by her companion and friend, Kenneth Garland; daughter, Sabine (Chris), Baddeck; and son, Steffen (Crystal), Sydney; and her special granddaughter, Yasmin; as well as a brother, Thomas, Germany. Besides her father, Karin was predeceased by her husband, Peter Werner (2002). Karin will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure to have known her, especially her Gisele Sisters. She was an amazing person and loved life to the fullest. Memorial service will be held Friday, Nov. 12, at 2 p.m. at the Greenwood United Church with Rev. Louis Ihasz officiating. Carey a young mother and devoted wife, was called to be with our heavenly father and loved ones who went before her at an early age. Although she is missed, she left with us many gifts. The enduring strength observed by all during her courageous battle has touched all of our lives by helping each of us to understand and appreciate what is truly important in life. Carey, who was born in Toronto, Ont., May 13, 1970, and raised in Groves Point, C.B., was predeceased by her mother, Margaret Szalay (Carey). Born in St. Peter's, she was a daughter of the late John Lawrence and Mary Jane (Gracie) Stone. Annie is survived by her only son, Bernie Jessome and his wife, Nancy and lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Lori, Brian, Mark, Angela, Moya and her great-grandchildren, Kris, Ryan, Matthew, Ashley, Moya and Jack. She is also survived by her brother, Richard Stone and his wife, Teresa, St. Peter's and her two sisters, Laura Morrison and Mildred Sampson and her husband, Ben, St. Peter's. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Donald Tryon Born in: Montreal, Quebec, Canada Passed away in: Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada Passed away on: 07/11/2010 It is with deep sadness that we, the family of Donald Edric Tryon, 77, of Fulton Ave., Westmount, announce his sudden passing on Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Montreal, he was the eldest son of the late Clarence and Mary Eileen (Donald) Tryon. Donald served with the Canadian Armed Forces from 1960-1970, spending six months with the United Nations Peacekeeping Operations during the Republic of Congo War in 1962. From 1960-1970, he was a member of the Signal Corp. and was honourably discharged as sergeant. He was a commanding officer of the 35th Sydney Service Battalion and also served as an administration and a logistics officer with the Cape Breton Militia District Headquarters. After a 15 year career, he retired from Parks Canada in 1986. He was also a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 12, Sydney. Don was an avid researcher with the Genealogical Society in Sydney and a volunteer income tax preparer for low income families and senior citizens. Surviving are his only daughter, Barbara and her mother, Thelma Tryon, Prime Brook; his son-in-law, Brent Falconer, Sydney and his cherished grandson, Ben. He is also survived by his companion, Judy Hilton and her children, Susanne (Bernie), Nancy (Mike), Ronny, Kenny, James (Lisa) and Linda; daughter-in-law, Donna Adams; sister, Helen (the late Joseph Slattery), Montreal; brother, Ken (Shirley), Edmonton; nephew, Michael; nieces, Karen and Michelle and their families. Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A memorial service will be held Saturday 11 a.m. in the chapel. Interment will take place in Montreal at a later date. Winston's greatest love was his family. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with all his friends. He will be deeply missed by all. Winston was born in Glace Bay, the son of the late George and Ethel (Heron) Bobbett, He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Esther (Courtney) Bobbett; children, Karen (Greg) MacIssac, Verona (Tom) Ogley, Sandra (Byron) Kaiser, all of Glace Bay. His grandchildren, Samantha, Sarah, Liam, Cameron, Kristin and Kindra. Winston is also survived by his brother, Ronald (Valery); sister-in-law, Helen, Red Deer, Alta. and many neices and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Harold and John; sister, Elaine Campbell; brother-in-law, Danny and sister-in-law, Ann. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service wil be held Friday at 2 p.m. at St. Mary's Anglican Church with Rev. Vernon Reid officiating. Reception to follow. Burial will be in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, family only.
