Cape Breton Deaths August 05, 2011 Friday There are 4 obituaries published for today Robert Cameron "Rob" Andrea Nellis Margaret (Grant) Cameron Kyle O'Toole Vince Mickey ******************************************************************************************************* Robert Cameron Andrea Born In: Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada Passed Away In: Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada Passed Away On: 03/08/2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rob Andrea, 26, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Rob's faith and trust in God has been an inspiration to us all and we rejoice that he is with his beloved Saviour. Born in Sydney, he was the son of Cameron and Rachel (Veinott) Andrea. He had a passion for ministry, influencing and teaching others, even through his illness. Through his time at Cape Breton Bible Camp and his vision for Christian community, he has shown us what faith in Jesus really is. Rob is survived by his wife, Joleen (Williams) Andrea; two sons, Gideon and Benaiah; and siblings, David (Kelley) and Laura. Rob was predeceased by his brother, Jonathan Dean, grandmother, Cecilia Andrea, grandfather, Dean Veinott, and uncle, Paul Veinotte. Visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 5 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Bethel Presbyterian Church, George Street. Funeral service will take place 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6 also at Bethel, with Pastor Stephen Fenton officiating. Interment to follow in Dr. John Pringle Cemetery, Blackett's Lake. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an educational fund for Gideon and Benaiah. Donations cards will be available at the church and the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to our web page at www.chantfuneralhome.com. ************************************ Nellie Margaret Cameron 1917-2011 Nellie Cameron, 94, of Baddeck and formerly of Lochaber, died Aug 4, 2011 at the Victoria County Memorial Hospital in Baddeck. Born at Eight Island Lake, Guysborough County, she was the daughter of the late Athol and Janie B. (Cummings) Hattie. Nellie lived most of her life in Lochaber, Antigonish County. In later years she resided at the Alderwood Nursing Home in Baddeck. She was a beloved mother and grandmother, a friend to many and her kindess and caring nature will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by daughter Hattie Farrell, New Minas; son Athol (Bernice) Grant, Baddeck; sister Dora Murphy, Toronto; and grandchildren Kevin Sampson (Linda) and family, Grand Manan, N.B.; Shawn Sampson (Heather) and family, Stanley, N.B.; Tim Farrell, Kentville; Nell Scott (Kevin) and family, New Minas; Danny Grant, Calgary, Alta.; Jenny Young (Tyler) and family, Guelph, Ont.; and Laura Jean Grant, Baddeck. Nellie was predeceased by her first husband, Wilford A. Grant, her second husband, Howard Cameron, son, Norman Grant, daughter Elsie Sampson, son-in-law Edward Farrell, brother, Lester, and sisters Gertie and Louise. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Saturday 7 to 9 pm, at C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College St, Antigonish, followed by a memorial service on Sunday at 2 pm at C.L. Curry Funeral Home. MacDonald presiding. *********************************** Vince Mickey - Memorial Mass - A memorial mass for the late Vince Mickey will be held at St Peter's Church, Ingonish Beach, on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 2 pm, with Rev Dan MacDonald officiating. Vince was the son of Selena McKinnon and the late Christopher Mickey, stepson of Neil McKinnon, husband of Kimberly (Lahey) Mickey.
