Members of the Holy Cross Church fundraising committee are selling historic calendars featuring all 12 Catholic Churches in Glace Bay and area. " The calendars are beautiful," said Elaine MacGillivray, president of the committee. " We hope all the parishioners of the other churches will enjoy having their church in the calendar and will enjoy having this keepsake of our parishes' history. " We have a very active and innovated fundraising group," she said. " The goal is always to present interesting fundraisers that benefit our own parish as well as the community at large." The last fundraiser the committee took on was an anniversary cookbook. "It was a great success because the people of Glace Bay are known for being fabulous cooks." She said a volunteer took pictures of all the Catholic churches for their latest fundraiser. " What a wonderful memento for family and friends."
